Why can't he just enjoy his TV if that's his tradition. Nothing wrong with that.

I don't think there is either, despite me saying it's not something we'd do. Live and let live and all that jazz.

ya but I don't like the new version of MO34ST.

just like if they were to ever Dare do a remake of It's a Wonderful Life. I'd never watch it.

Tobogganing sounds fun. just hard to do at night.

I would love to have 30 family members over

In the last fifteen or twenty years one of the networks always put on "It's a Wonderful Life" or "Miracle on 34th Street", or "A Christmas Carol" and we always watched at least one of them. About six or seven years ago our kids bought us a copy of all three. My favorite is the Alistair Simm version of "A Christmas Carol". Blockbusters will have all three for sale at this time of year.

Well, so I was looking at the 2010 Christmas Holiday Lineup for TV and I noticed that for the first time that I can remember, they are not showing the Classic "It's a Wonderful Life" On Christmas Eve this year.

like who at CBC decided that us viewers were tired of it?

that's just stupid..

what did they put in it's place? the 1994 version of Miracle on 34th st. the redo version.. the one I don't watch!

Sorry about that. My fault. I'd started a petition soon after Christmas last year to play 'Miracle on 34th St.' I didnd't realise people actually liked 'It's a wonderful life.' But if you start a counter-petition, I won't challenge it now that I know some people actually liked it.

Ok, the above is all made up, but I thought I'd pull your leg a bit there.

Happy 24th of December y'all.

Don't you just hate a movie where you know the ending??? spoils the whole thang fer me...

There are some movies that you can only stand to look at the one time for sure. Then there are a few that can bring something new each time you view it. Depth in direction, script and scenery make a huge difference.

I know!! My daughter forced me to take her to "Titanic". Throughout the whole movie, all I could think about was that the ship was going to sink and Celine Dion was going to sing.

I want a real true traditional Christmas where amanita muscaria are put under the tree and we all go on a magic sleigh ride.

I tried to watch ' It's a wonderful life' once.

Couldn't make myself sit through it, I found it so bad.

To me, the idea of sitting around on Christmas Eve watching television is simply horrifying.

Listen to Christmas music, play some board games with the family, burn stuff, drink a lot, that's pretty much the highlight.

The only movie I give a damn about watching around Christmas..... is A Christmas Story.

Reading? :-?

Yeah, see, some of us old timers remember when there used to be things called 'books', which consisted of words printed on thin sheets of what was called 'paper', bound together.

Sometimes, these 'books' were a fictional tale with an interesting plot and humour.

It's the whole Cause & Effect phenominon. Celine Dion's singing is the Cause and the Titanic sinking is the Effect.;)

As to the OT, how about watching A Christmas Story? That's a good alternative.:)

Yup....;-) That would be the old Star Trek reruns and the odd John Wayne movie for me......
