doesn't bother me.. i'm not going anywhere. My thanksgiving was last month and I only drove 60 mins to get where I wanted to go.

if they wanna make their departures extremely slow, go for it.

Kinda figured you wouldn't be straying far from your parents basement but that is besides the point...

they're supposed to be Plastic not glass.
Booze botles at a liquor store in the depature mall in secure area are glass bottles like any other bottle of booze. Where do you get the idea they are plastic?

They even sell Texas mickeys. That is enough glass to arm 10 people from 1 bottle that anyone over 18 or 19 depending on province can buy right in the airport after you've cleared security.

Well, as far as the whole premise that flying is a privilege not a right is a little more hazy: it is something that is regulated for safety reasons, but freedom of movement IS a right, so this could be argued (to a limited extent) either way.

As for the scans, I do think they're unnecessary and intrusive. That there is (so far!) at least one publicized case of them being abused is alarming, considering they haven't been in effect all that long. Why can't they use dogs or come up with some sort of chemical sniffers to pinpoint the key components for possible explosives instead?

Slower than yesterday? If you were trying to fly in West Can yesterday you'd be one pissed off Mofo because airports have to spend more moolah on pointless security while runway and gate staff get the short end of the stick which means your safety is far more compromised by lack of runway and tarmack clearing equipment and staff.

A tiny piece of FOD hidden in snow will ruin your day quicker than any boogieman ever could.

Anyone work up the courage to launch the ass assassin while being "examined"? I mean just to let them know there ain't nothing up the poop shoot that doesn't belong. Peace of mind and all. I think it's the patriotic thing to do.

I've been thinking the same thing....it's only a matter of time before somebody cuts one while being searched and becomes famous on youtube....

Onion soup, three over cooked hard boiled eggs, a beer and two packs of matches is a recipe that never fails.

:canada:.........I was listening to a talk show on the radio...(old fashioned concept, I know), and the "transportation" people on it were of the opinion that, in recent years, due to the attempts to smuggle explosives on board planes, and the resultant higher tech scans, etc., no terrorist worth their salt is gonna strap explosives on them.

Also, they stated, it was MUCH EASIER to put explosives in luggage, and have them loaded for you. All a good terrorist needs is an inside person. It could be in the luggage of some unawares passenger, so there would be no scramble to exit just before take off.

If they wanna do it, they're gonna - somehow.

I haven't flown in 20 or so years, but would not object to a full body scan. Would suck to be the scanner. Specially if they just ate.

The touchy-feely stuff creeps me out a bit, less 'she's cute. I'm married and old, but not dead.:laughing2:
