Other than what you heard her say (maybe she was just bragging and blowing hot air) you know absolutely nothing about her. You are just using your biased opinion to assume something not in evidence...

If you want to give credibility to someone who "brags and blows hot air", that is your perfect right. I think Talloola's "track record" is better.

ok so what is with society where people have a car or truck and they must speed?

speed limit is 110 yet they need to go 130 or 140 and up (god knows why?)

limit is 50 yet they need to go 60 or 70!

speed limit is 80 and of course gotta go 90, 100 even 110

I don't buy the excuse that our vehicles are designed to be able to handle higher speeds, that's not an excuse to do it!

funny, this morning, as I always do. I sit in the right lane, plant it at 110 and drive.

I swear almost every single vehicle, whether it was in the left or right lane behind me was cruising past me! at least 120!

the reason I do 110 and not budge is I want to get the most out of my tank of gas. I know that if I drive faster, i'll use up more gasoline. besides, there's no need to go faster than 110, I get to work on time!

so why do we (most people) have to speed?

How about because in many places the speed limit is set artificially low by bureaucrats with their own agenda? Time is money and time spent in crawling traffic is a waste of both. Speed should be governed more by weather and road conditions than what someone in a city deems as fast enough. Speeding tickets are now a revenue center for cash strapped governments. Obviously lower speeds are necessary in the city but on open roads there is no need to dawdle along.

110 kmh is too fast for Nanaimo Parkway. I wonder how many dead deer are gathered up there each year. 90 kmh is even fast for that stretch of Highway.

Depends on the time of day and weather conditions. I don't recall any of the parkway as being 110, mostly 90. When I go through at 5am there is no traffic so even 110 is kind of slow. Also noticed that since the lights on the parkway are not synced it is impossible to hit all green by doing the speed limit. Simple things like making the lights work at the speed limit would encourage driving it.

there was no need to assume, the exact words were spoken, and the idea that she was blowing hot air,
is an assumption on 'your' part, I heard the facts and didn't create anything else from them.

The biggest hazzards on the road are the slow pokes who drive 20 to 40 clicks below the speed limit.

absolutely not, it is the reaction of 'others', to those who drive too slow, the impatience and arrogance
for others to comply with what 'they' want, and won't take the time to adjust their thinking.

the slow drivers are just something we all have to live with, but they do nothing to cause accidents,
and each person who is having a hissy fit because a slow drivr is in front of them should take a
second to examine their own behavior, heart beat, blood pressure and language, compared to the slow
driver who probably is calm, happy and doing the best he/she can behind the wheel.

If you want to dawdle then pull over and let traffic by. Slow drivers cause others to take chances which wouldn't be necessary if they were doing the speed limit or getting out of the way.

slow drivers don't cause anybody to do anything, they make those decisions all by themselves, and if
they take chances it is their own fault. careless and dangerous driving cannot be blamed on anyone
but the person behind 'that' wheel, the slow driver is just irritating, but shouldn't cause anyone
to do anything stupid.

Um, look at the posts. Talloola is the one trying to give credibility to a teen blowing hot air, not me. From what I've seen, Talloola's track record is nothing to brag about.

What facts? She said she liked speeding etc. No facts as far as any consequences from her 'actions' if the speeding actually occurred. I guess you still have your head in the sand.

Slow drivers are irritating ... and it's the irritated driver who'll do something stupid and drag somebody else into it. Everyone bears some responsibility out there.

Nope- they are second, tailgaters are the worst and most deadly.:lol: Defensive drivers aren't affected by slow pokes, they are patient until they can pass safely.
I disagree with you both. lol
Inattentive drivers are by far the worst.

So what? She speeds? So does the majority of the driving population...

Just a response to your remark "if the speeding actually occurs"...............one minute you express doubt of the occurrance and the next you say the majority of the population speeds. That last remark is absolutely correct, but that doesn't make it right and with 5000 Canadians dying in traffic accidents every year, that is a testament that the population by and large are lousy drivers. The speeding probably isn't quite as bad as "the hurry" & the attitude is reprehensible.:smile::smile:

No, the majority of Canadians dying as a result of traffic accidents are because of drinking and driving. Speeding has nothing to do with it.

You're half right, drinking is the cause of a lot of the accidents, the dying is the result of speed, as speed exacerbates the injuries and damage.

well at least it's not up my ass, as yours is. lol

unless a slow driver is weaving on the road or doing something which makes him/her obviously
dangerous while driving, they have no part in anyone elses decision to be impatient and do something
dangerous and risky because they have no patience for the slow driver, and slow driver in my mind isn't
someone going 5 mi an hour, it's someone who is probably doing the speed limit, which hardly anyone
does, or 5 mi per hr under the limit, suck it up everyone give the person a break, just because they
can't drive the speed you can, doesn't mean they don't belong on the road, we stop and sit at a
crosswalk and let old people, handicapped people, and doddling teenagers cross the road, we have to
have patience, and we do it, and it is right to do it, 'do the right thing'.

Some people are efficient at a slower speed, usually older people and some women as well, that is
their right, they are citizens allowed to drive just like everyone else.

Hey, Talloola, some guys are just impossible to debate with (like one who just left the forum) and anyone who defends speeding and police thuggery loses all credibility with me.

Many drivers fail to realize that the posted speed limit is meant for when all conditions are ideal, including things like visability, weather, traffic congestion, and the state of the driver. If a person is driving a little under the speed limit he/she may feel his/her reaction time is not what it should be at the posted speed. Keep "socking it to em", talloola, you make perfect sense.:smile:

Chiliagonthe reason I do 110 and not budge is I want to get the most out of my tank of gas. I know that if I drive faster said:
For a multitude of idiotic reasons- 1. Poor or lack of planning. 2. Can't stand the thought of anyone else being in front of them. 3. Under the mistaken illusion it's macho. 4. Lack of patience. 5. Utter stupidity 6. Thoughtlessness.:lol::lol:

"To get the most out of your gas tank"- you should probably be driving at 40-45 mph. Another guide is just above lugging speed in the highest gear.
