The House Sparrow is not even native to Canada. It should be something like a vulture. We took paradise and turned it into a shopping mall and garbage dump. We live off the carrion of our forests and other resources.Getting real, what should be the office Bird and Flower of Canada? Seriously.
I think the Official Bird of Canada should be the House Sparrow:
And I think the Official Flower of Canada should be the Dandelion:
As far as I remember, it came here with British immigrants a hundred years or so ago as house pets.Where's it from?
Canaries and budgies too. It was the Victorian thing to do. Canaries had important roles to play. They were the slaves to one of the first uses of health and safety acts ever passed. As far as I remember, it came here with British immigrants a hundred years or so ago as house pets.
La lune.or maybe the loon.
Well that's good to know, because I think they're pretty (takes a mature eye to see... anyone can appreciate a bird splashed with primary colors) and I told a friend once that I thought they'd be neat to keep in a cage, and he told me I was nuts.As far as I remember, it came here with British immigrants a hundred years or so ago as house pets.
flower we can say the Maple Tree.. sort of a flower.
Came with with the brits and other twits.
But the thing is... the Maple Tree is only found in eastern Canada.Absolutely!
The Maple TREE can be the official FLOWER of Canada. You should nominate that.
Cripes...
Crows are all over North Am.Hmm... well then... what other bird is native, and can be found coast to coast?
Two come to mind:
1) The Crow, which would correlate, in that the flock-name for crows is "a Parliament of Crows". Are crows found everywhere?
Seagulls are spread out all over the planet.2) The Seagull, which are found all over the prairies, even though there's not an ocean for a thousand miles. Are Seagulls found everywhere?
Nonsense. We have tons of them here in BC. Both the red maple and the regular ones. But the thing is... the Maple Tree is only found in eastern Canada.
They're not found coast-to-coast the way Dandelions are.
I'd vote raven, and wild rose.
Nonsense. They grow wild along the roads here as well as uninhabited places.Maybe yes to Raven, because I've seen them every part of the country I've been in, but wild rose is only found on the prairies.
