lol I guess I should have said "panic monger" considering Machjo's proclivity for pedantic activity these days. But then, I'd have had to add a smilie to show my post was in humor. lol

Have you read the article - Your opinion on it is?

I realize that you limit yourself to certain media but all media follows certain characteristics

Story - Hype the story - more readers - up the advert rev
Slant - They all do that - some more so than others.
Hype - By Radio TV - Little hints, mostly BullS with the " News at 11 crap.

Lastly - Iggy this time went to far in his sucking up to the Chinese.

What can we learn from China on Human Rights
Iggy goes to China and states we are moral equals - Really
He sees the Cultural Revolution as a Positive influence - Perhaps he could do that with the Liberal Party as they could use a purge ot the Party Elite, and I ain't talking Ex-Lax

Now you attack the messenger - Conservatives or not to defend this - You cannot defend the message so you resort to innuendo. Typical Liberal Attitude - We are the best for the country - You are entitled to free speech of course as long as it agrees with the Party Line.

And what exactly does Harper think about all this? Surely his opinions are more important than those of Iggy? How does Harper feel about China?

Where did I admit that, Goober? Mind you, i also don't recall saying that you are a conservative. You just seem to have this penchant to attack Liberals. That would indicate (though not prove) that you indeed are a conservative.
lmao Dippers aren't Glibs either. Neither are Greens. It's a good thing you said it only "indicates" rather than "proves".

Do some research - When Harper was elected he spoke about China and Human Rights - the Liberals were tripping over themselves blasting Harper for jeopardizing the relationship between China - Canada.

And you opinion on the Slavering Iggy on his China Tour Disgrace is?????????

You should also recall I posted thread slamming Harper and Cons & Ministers as well. Problem is the Cons do not screwup as often as Iggy does. Iggy is a constant.
He and his policy staements are like wisps in the wind - One minute blowing West - Next minute Blowing East - And he has blown it Big Time.

I foresee a walk in the park where a vision will be seen by the Slavering Iggy, could be a moonlit night - Visons are clearer then I hear - Right after a discussion with the Party Elite that he has health problems and should retire.

I really haven’t thought about it, and I don’t much care. If you do your research, you probably will find that there is very little difference between Libs and Cons when it comes to China policy, this is not the issue that differentiates the two parties.

And I think it is a safe bet that the next election will not be fought on China policy.

Well take 5 minutes - read it - and let me know.
Also you should have been aware of the heat that Harper took from every Party that he was jeopardizing the relationship with China.

A little less attention to religion and more to what people say.

I doubt most people are interested in what politicians are saying, except at election times.

The best vote getter cons have ever had, and still cons are running neck and neck with Liberals in polls? Doesn't that say something about the cons?[/QUOTE]

Yes, they got almost half the voters despite what they stand for. Pretty sad for Libs.

I am not most - When a Con screws up i have no problem saying so - Can you not see that Igg's statements are an embarrassment and insulting to the Country, the Citizens and the Charter of Rights which sets us apart from China in many ways.

Half the voters? You mean Cons got 50% of the votes? Which poll (or which election) was that, taxslave?

I don't know enough about the guy to know if he is good or bad, but I have to say, I somewhat dislike the use of the word "elitist". As Bill Maher says, "If I have to get heart surgery, I want an elite doctor". There is this notion that if politicians use big words and seem to know better than the average commoner, they are a bad guy.....they are an "Elitist" This is nonsense, and I don't blame the politicians for this, I blame the voters.

Have you read the srticle - A politician is in the Country that will be a superpower in 20-30 years and you come up with such a trite reply - I would expect better from you. .

I feel so sorry for the Liberal party. ;-) Last time around they had a guy who was all heart, now they have one with no heart. Maybe they will get it right the next time, but I am not holding my breath.

I see a trend here.

Chretin - No Heart
Dion - No Brain
Ignatieff - No Courage

Is it me or is the LoC auditioning for parts in the Wizard of Oz?

I fell sorry for Canada - The Liberals have the attitude of Father Knows Best- We are forward in our thinking and as long as you belive in what we do then you are a good Canadian

Cannot stand Harper, and Iggyis an elitist - Thinks that a small number of certain people can run this country - Most of them from Toronto

Iggy had the meeting of the minds shall we say - A large group of specific indicuals invited to plan the way ahead - Then he tells his MP's not to attend - Now is that not Elitist - Is that not a dumb move - elling MP's - Get elected then shut up and do as i say.

He is a The Great Bumbler. Thank God we are in for Minority Govts as both the Cons and Libs scare me with what they would do.

We get what we vote (or don't vote) for, Goob. If the people of Canada want another party in power they will have to get out and vote instead of staying away from the polling booths as so many of them do now.

Yes indeed - also some sort of proportional system would be OK - If a person does not get 50% plus 1 - Then a run off for that seat is held - Only New Candidates would be legally acceptable as the citizens of the riding did not have faith in the last bunch of cretins-in the election-

Whoever gets the most in the runoff wins. I could live with that.

Here in BC we had a vote to change our system to proportional rep, Goob. The thing was that it was so hard to get one's head around exactly how the system worked. I read all the material they sent out, I attended two meetings where it was explained, and still I came away wondering just what I was voting for. I was not alone in this as talking to my friends they also had trouble.

Sometimes, I think that a benign dictator might be the ticket. ;-)

I agree - You would need a New York Lawyer to understand some parts of it - What I found upsetting was the Party Elite makes their own list of At Large candidates - Funny how they use that term - We often here of that regarding an escaped prisoner - Then again while typing this I realize it is more than appropriate
