Another thread about the oil spill fiasco in the Gulf???

Yep, unfortunely some subjects have to be beaten to death and one is not sufficient, to appease the obsession of a lot of posters - live, eat breathe politics 24/7- how borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring.:lol::lol:

Head cheese is much more interesting.

The guy was a moron for making these comments and the left jumped on it pretty quick.

Anything to divert attention from the disaster they are overseeing.

The left jumped on it? Come on, anyone with an IQ higher than 90 jumped on it. I suspect even the apologists for right wing stupidity on FOX shook their heads over this one.

Did the left not jump all over it? They had too because they (the Democrats) have been smothered in the muck of this disaster. They need anything they can to push it to the other side of the aisle.

Not only left, but most people jumped on it. This probably helps to remind the people why they kicked out Republicans in the first place. It is just that people have short memories, they probably have forgotten most of Republican atrocities by now. Hopefully this incidence will jog their memory.

Spoken like a true politician.
I don't see how even the real right wingnuts can blame Obama for this since the lack of regulation that BP was working under were put in place by junior and slick dick. Obama has been in power for a year, not nearly enough time to fix all the problems his predecessor made.

Oil companies should be ashamed for treating our planet the way they do. Let's go spew crude into their food supplies and cover their dogs, cats, budgies, etc. and fill their goldfish bowls with crude.

This oil spill started back in May and despite BP's half hearted attempts, oil is still gushing into the Gulf. The technology to stop this leak is available, and has been available for years. BP needs to be punished severely while the oil still pours into the Gulf and while the damage onshore has still not been repaired. BP is still making money from this disaster by harvesting some of the oil that is pouring out, meanwhile, the oil is still arriving onshore. Obama's government should force BP to make stopping the leak the absolute top priority.

I think it is their top priority. But the surefire solution, building a relief well takes time and won’t be done until August. Until then, there are only stop gap measures, seeing that whatever was tried so far did not work.

Hey, Bush wears the blame for the economic crash caused by deregulation on Slick Willie's watch.........turn around is fair play.

But you are correct, just the same.

What will happen to the oil already in the Gulf those big bubbles of it they keep talking about?

And now that everyone has blamed Bush or Obama, so what? It happened and we have to deal with it. What is next, nothing we can do about the past, arguing about learning something from it won't work either. (we never learn)

BP offered to pay for all the damages the spill caused long before Obama did anything.

So, apology or no apology, if Obama takes credit for scoring the $20 billion, it is a SHAKEDOWN.

BP did not agree to set up the fund of 20 billion $ until Obama talked to them. As to it being a shakedown, Barton has already tried that, it was a miserable failure. Even Many Republican expressed their disapproval of what he was saying (and forced him to apologize, probably against his wishes).

Until now I was not convinced that BP was serious about making reparations, but with the setting up of the trust fund of 20 billion $, I have changed my mind. I think BP does appear to be serious about making reparations.

BP offered to pay for all damages long before Obama shook them down.

But the acolytes need to think that their Saviour did good.
