actually, on that subject, about 20 yrs ago one of the tv staions here in Australia, there was a story about a guy in south east Queensland who had his car, motorbike and motor mower, running on a water cell... he tried to market it and had his and his family's life threatened if he didnt pull his head in. Had close up photos of his kids getting on the school bus sent to him in the mail with threatening letter attached.

That is the basis for a hydrogen power cell. Not new technology but I think cheap oil killed it.
