Certainly, there must be some exceptions, but the majority of Jews spread out in countries all over the world are Jewish first, meaning allegiance to Israel, citizens of their host country the second, maybe. Certainly they enjoy the economic benefits that they then can share with Israel. It is not easy to be an independent Jew. There are pressures from the Jewish communitity, cajolins, threats even, to conform.
I changed countries twice, each time making a commitment to my new country. Guess what? It made me a cosmopolitan.

I don't feel that I was 'lied to'. The Ad agency just got it wrong. I just feel that I was talked down to. i don't need them to use Israel as a reason, all I have to do is read, and i know that Iran is dangerous - they don't need to use Israel as an excuse for everything that's bad, take away Israel, and they still won't approve of us.
It was just a stupid, 'low hanging fruit' ad. That's all.

OK - the whole, 'There is no greater crime than the apartheid state of Israel ' thing? In apartheid South Africa, Africans couldn't vote and were relegated to townships. In Israel Arabs vote, have access to the same healthcare, school system etc ... and can live where they want. Apartheid? I don't think so. Find a better word.

No they don't, they live in ghettos and are excluded from much of Israeli economic and civil oportunities, they are clearly second class citizens as all the dark Jews are, they were all imported to the chosen state to slave for the white Jews and swell the Jewish numbers against the creeping Arab majorities in Palestine. The Ethiopian Jewish immigrants were allotted land in mine fields. You don't think it's apartheid, well the majority of earths thinking people know it is without any doubt. Did the word 'grateful'ever cross one of my posts? Nope. but they have access to change the wrongs - they also have Israeli Jews who actively support change - something you don't see in Muslim countries with Jewish or other minorities, such as Kurds.And that's why I take issue with the term 'apartheid'. If there is something wrong, at least there is a legal system to fight it. You seem to expect perfection from Israel, but are very willing to to not expect it from Muslim countries.
