Islands Prove Earth Expansion and Declining Sea Levels

New Scientist: Shape-shifting islands defy sea-level rise.

For years, people have warned that the smallest nations on the planet - island states that barely rise out of the ocean - face being wiped off the map by rising sea levels. Now the first analysis of the data broadly suggests the opposite: most have remained stable over the last 60 years, while some have even grown.

If this proves to be true, it certainly is good news for all the souls living on these islands.

Is the earth growing or are waves pushing more sand ashore?
The article says that as the islands have a reef base, the coral as it dies is crumbled and washed ashore, thusly building up or at least keeping the sea level constant. The waves are just pushing more sand ashore.
The article also said that if the rate of sea level rise speeds up, the dead coral sand will not be able to keep up.

If this proves to be true, it certainly is good news for all the souls living on these islands.
Unless the rate of ocean rise increases. Which is what scientists are saying is happening now.

Waves erode, too. Maybe the seas are declining since the Bamster was elected just as he predicted it would.

Webb and Kench warn that while the islands are coping for now, any acceleration in the rate of sea-level rise could overtake the sediment build up. Calculating how fast sea levels will rise over the coming decades is uncertain science, and no one knows how fast the islands can grow.
Barry Brook, a climate scientist at the University of Adelaide in Australia and a supporter of the 350 campaign - which calls for the most stringent global emissions targets in the hope of saving low-lying states from sea-level rise - points out that sea-level rise is already accelerating.

It would also mean lower sea levels even with ice-caps melting. Over a long enough period of time the spreading at the mid-ocean faults will expand and the water from the beaches will take up that space. The Grand Bank will eventually be farmland for somebody and the oceans are only wider not deeper.

The same force that is making the spreading possible could also be up-lifting the whole crust at a much slower rate than the lateral expansion.

Doesn't this disprove Global Warming, the melting of the polar ice caps, the inundation of islands and coasts. It could mean just the opposite is happening.

It's very difficult to find A/ proof of rising sea level B/proof of global warming but it's easy as hell to find proof of crooked instituions taking money from the carbon credit mob and the NWO cultists. Call me when we run out of polar bears and islands, untill then get back to work making your golden statues of Al Gore and Maurice Strong.

So how did the inland seas of North America become the plains, the crust either rose in elevation of the spreading seafloors allowed the water a lower place to be.

Some of these Islands are "MAN MADE" ...During construction Soil /Sand /And everything needed to expand the "Private" island and it's vacation resorts are added..Causing other poorer/less developed islands to be flooded...

There still had to be something there to be moved around, that would seem to leave a volcano or coral beds that either uplifted or had the seas recede or a combination of the two. Does coral compress into limestone?

Ummm, No. How do you figure that could be? Did you even read the link, or even Anna's snippet from it?

Interesting that the phenomenon is taking place in tropical regions. The rising of the land is well documented in arctic regions. In fact it is estimated that Hudson's Bay will eventually disappear due to isostatic rebound.

I do question the following statement in the article.
All ancient civilizations evolved in high regions around the world. This fact, and the real reason, has never been addressed by historians.

I am not sure what civilizations are being referred to. Other than the Inca and Mesoamerican civilizations I know of very few that evolved in mountainous regions. In fact the oldest centres of civilization; that of the Fertile Crescent and Egypt took place very close to sea level. The same is true of the civilizations of the Indus Valley and the various river civilizations in China.

I would say that it does but my review by my peers here hasn't agreed. However I believe the global warming scam has been a wholely fabricated and purchased contrivance to stampede the human race into the carbon economy and nothing else but, furthermore I am already aquireing cold weather gear and frost tolerant seeds as well as constructing dug in solar efficient digs.

Don't forget the reflectors and the fiber optic cable so you can grow tomatoes in the basement.
