Admire you taking on reading that huge document - but your technical mind will have no trouble deciphering it. I become a whining diva when I go near the plan...
I just hope I can maintain my own paid-for self coverage in a status-quo position.
I can maintain prevention, regular check ups, electronic scans and the usual stuff
but if I have any "heroic" type surgery necessary I doubt if I will be able to handle it without some kind of add-on plan which would be expensive.
I still don't know if they plan to allow undocumented people the same health care - it they asked them to take out their papers, it might encourage them to do so if they want coverage....but I have yet to hear of people being turned away because of their resident status - especially childbirth.
Also there are many travellers from outside the U.S. visiting on vacation - I know Canadians have little problem getting health care here while travelling or vacationing during the "snowbird" months, but am not certain what people from other countries do -
Trouble with that kind of situation is the people flood emergency room services because they have no family doctor, no regular check ups..... some clinics operate during the year but when bad things happen...the ER must foot the time, space and the bill too.
Ahem when you get deep into the plan you might want to pack some lunches ahead of time !!
