Well, I had an absolutley wonderful breakfast of blueberry waffles that my wife made for me this morning that ranks up there with the best breakfasts I've had. I'm not normally a big breakfast person (cup of tea or hot cocoa and a cereal bar/muffin and a couple pieces of fruit is my norm) but the best breakfasts that I can remember tend to be mostly from my youth: camping trips with eggs, bacon, pancakes and sometimes fresh caught walleye all cooked over the campfire. Something about the ashes and fly poop maybe? :p
Yup, campfare is awesome with the right cook. I think the woodsmoke actually adds quite a bit of flavor, too, besides the ashes and fly poop. lol

Another breakfast I almost forgot. And this is a health one too, which a change when it comes to British food. It is of course grilled kippers.

Loaded with salt. Healthy for sure.

Anyway, Eggs Benedict is my favorite. Scrambled on toast with Franks' Red Hot or Louisiana hot sauce and a slab of ham on the side is great, too.

Franks Hot sauce is good, along with fried ham, eggs basted, fried spuds, whole wheat toast and coffee. (bacon is also excellent but the salt could kill you)

What is a basted egg? I can pass on the whole wheat, but I really like the multigrains or just straight rye or sourdough bread.

BAsted egg- put a tablespoon of water in the pan and put the lid on. Try it you'll like it.

BBQed steak from the night before, warmed up in the warming shelf over the wood stove.

Hard-boiled eggs,

Bacon cooked crisp

Murdered Buckwheat pancakes, smothered in butter, drowned in maple syrup (the REAL stuff)

Orange juice and milk.

And you wondered why I had a heart attack. :)

When I was a little girl, my dad use to soft boil eggs,
then put one or two in a glass, and chop them
up , add butter and a little salt and pepper, stir a little
more.

He would hand me a glass and a spoon, and it was so delicious, but simple. probably an irish dish he had
when he was a boy.

There is nothing better than the smell of frying bacon in the great outdoors.

Yes, 'smells' immediately bring up memories, and I remember
laying in the tent, and later in the camper, and later, in
the 5th wheel, the smell of bacon
and eggs, and fresh coffee drifting around the campsite.
I don't ever eat that sort of food for breakfast anymore, but
in those days, I could eat anything at anytime, and not
add fat to my body or feel like my insides were oozing
grease.

That very well could be. We had that very same thing when we were kids, and I still love my eggs that way sometimes.

We did, too. :) I still love those along with some multigrain toast and milk or orange juice.
