I thought it was more like a vested interest in a prayerful intent. A vision of the future as it were manifested as an interpretation of one of the promises made by God.

But the current Holy Land does not meet the specs.

That depends on the day of the week or the Zionist you talk to. Labour Zionism was communist but now it is has evolved into multiple idealogical factions with multiple sub disciplines all wishing to exists within or supporting a state of Israel.

It goes a little further back than 1880 (quest for a homeland in Palestine for the Jews specifically). Who do you think created the market for the sale of all the buffalo hides suddenly being found in the North America? Sort of like there are the 'boat people' and what is considered as 'cargo'. The boat people only make the deals and the desires for 'goods', they never get their own hands dirty. For that they have 'employees' or 'dupes' (settlers is the name of the cargo when North America was the 'target')

The game is the same create as chain of supply and demand, the items don't have to be useful, they are usefull because they need to be moved from point a to point b (and a lot more) Those movers (the boat people) are what we also call middle men, they make huge profits for doing nothing. Hydo-Quebec makes a killing off power they do not produce, they act as a boat for the power. Ask the NFLD Gov if they see it as being a 'fair deal'. The best con part of this whole operation is the boat people have everybody convinced that killing each other is perfectly fine way to 'settle differences' until it comes to dealing with the 'boat people', no harm must come to them no matter how badly they run things.

Does that mean you agree that it can happen? There should also be better ways to handle the situation.
The big point being no Arab people should lose anything in the quest to allow Jews a state of their own.
Prayers to God work just fine from anyplace on the planet. To put the 'homeland' in the middle of a area where they are 'not wanted' is pouring fuel on the fire. That move would even make Hitler pop his eyes in disbelief.

Course it wouldn't be the first time the West signed something that wasn't worth the paper it was written on. We just gained the ability to use the 'good cop - bad cop' routine on the Arab population.

Hmmm... Not really, the prayerful intent, I will use the Balfour Letter as a guide as I have no other available to me and that's the one I keep hearing about, stated quite clearly a Commonwealth....Commonwealths are complex, but they are inclusive. A Republic on the other hand, is a Man construction, a faux structure which allows all in the structure to "Be as Kings", or that was the intent. Prayer and intentions matter....

So, straight up, what are they going for a "State"(Republic) or "Commonwealth"?

That was sort of like an e-mail back to the Rothschild family in reply to their desire of the help of the Government of England in securing the area known as Palestine and turning it over to the Jews. This plan was originally acted on inn the 1880's by the Rothschild family. They began buying up land in 'Palestine' in preparation for that event happening. That Declaration meant that Lord Balfour would 'bribe enough people to 'make it happen'. Today that would be considered to be a conspiracy and it would be stopped from happening.
One more piece of info from that time is the promise to the people of Palestine (all religions) of becoming independent Nation if they helped Britain in the war and Britain won the war for that area of the world so their promise should have been kept.
