Canada's Biggest Scandal?

Sunday, 28 February 2010 08:52

'For decades, political and business insiders, with Canadian and British Columbian governments, have known that the water resources in the American southwest and Mexico were dwindling in the face of an increasing population. A small group of Canadian political insiders saw the opportunity to earn massive profits for themselves from the export of Canada's fresh water and set about on a fraudulent and corrupt scheme to capture for themselves an illegal water export monopoly so they could line their pockets with revenues from the sale of Canadian public assests and gouge American consumers.'

Interesting. It's not different from privatizing water in central american countries and others such as India and South Africa. Corporations from Europe try to resolve, "third world" country debt by paying it and setting up shop in these countries in return.

I would give the article a little more credibility if it did not originate on a site that is riddled with conspiracy theories. It makes me wonder just how much of it was made up.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with transporting water from a place with more water than it can use to a place with not enough water as long as it is ecologically responsible.
As usual, though, politics screws things up.

Wouldn't you rather send water off to those who deserve it rather than to those who destroyed their own supply because they think they can buy yours?

Yup. I think that's what I said, isn't it? Cali has a big puddle beside it and there are such things as desalinisation plants. There's a lot of other places that have no access to much of ANY kind of water.

To my mind,

Water and all natural resources are a matter of Commonwealth.

Contractors can be licensed, but there should be a strong public presence in these industries.

A certain portion of resource revenue should go into a "legacy Fund" to ensure the country is producing opportunities while the resources are used. In other words, a form of conversion process.

We will have to share water, that's obvious and its obvious that we are supposed to do it. But let's do it sustainably and think of the grandchildren....

But they are there and they survive there because waste isn't in their vocabulary. Maybe we need to send poor people from dry place to teach the yanks how to get by on less rather buy more to waste?

Why would WE need to do that? The yanks can't import their own efficiency experts?

The one you link directed the reader to. Did you not notice the list of conspiracy links
on the site?

its only a conspiracy till it becomes fact....in the case of David Icke....here wrote about what is happening today,....15 yrs ago....find some of his books and a have a read.......then maybe you'll understand why certain factions in Canada tried extremely hard to remove his books from sale, and stop him from talking in Canada......so much for freedom of speech....eh?
Chapters used to sell them when I first went to canada...but all of a sudden, they were removed....and nobody in chapters could tell me why........

I Googled Mr. Icke and discovered his site and a Wikipedia article on him. It appears he is indeed a conspiracy theorist and one who uses outrageous claims in order to sell books and attract people to his lectures. I wouldn't give very much of what he says the least bit of credibility.

I suspect his books were removed from Chapters for the usual reason that Chapters removes certain titles - no one was buying them. It may also be that his books were there, but had been moved to the fantasy section.
