will you puh....lease check your facts before you start typing. The arena was closed to the public. Get it?

This was an achievement of monumental proportions for our ladies - they just won their 3rd olympic championship. Party on ladies and i will raise on in your honor.

Way to go canadian women's hockey team. You are gold!

Well i've got a problem with this for a couple of reasons. First and formost gloating and making a spectacle of yourself after a victory is POOR SPORTSMANSHIP. Nobody cares what you do with your team mates in the locker room. But coming out and rubbing in your victory on an international stage (and in your opponent's face).. LACKS CLASS. I know the team is better than that.

Also at this point Women's Hockey is on the knife edge of being eliminated from the Olympics because of a lack of genuine international competition. The entire field is made up of only two teams. Unappealing theatrics like this do not help their cause, it might give the IOC another excuse to ditch the game.

I'm sorry, I must have missed the 'gloating and making a spectacle of yourself' bit when I was reading all the articles this morning. Just where did you read that as I would truly like to see the article for myself?????

You are right about the future of women's hockey at this level, however, I highly doubt that a bit of partying is going to make a difference one way or the other. Besides, though IMHO they need not have, the ladies apologized immediately when told about the furor.

And just because I don't see gods doesn't mean there aren't any? lol

I see what you mean. Er, I mean, I can't see what you mean. But I think I understand the meaning. Even though I can't see it. Aw sh!t, it's all too deep for me!

"I have no problem with drinking, but I definitely have a problem with smoking. If they want to smoke in private, that is their business. But to smoke in such a way that it will be known publicly, that was definitely irresponsible on their part."

No smoking has ever driven a person to jeopardize the family's bread and butter. But drinking has done so, over and over again.

You pretty much took the words out of my mouth Y.J. Smoking is a big deal, drinking isn't !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Major misnomer. Neither of them are very good. I do both to a certain extent (very limited) BUT which is worse? I personally think booze has the edge, just because it diminishes ones faculities to the point where a $ million dollars of damage and several lives can be taken out in a fractioin of a second. I suppose a smoker could burn the house down. Smoking screws up heart, arteries and lungs, drinking screws up brains and livers. , so I guess either side needn't be too sanctimonious.

Sorry I can't agree with that line of reasoning. The next step would be that we all have to take responsibility for the image we may convey to some air head. Nah that won't fly.

Is "air head" a politically-correct, academically-acceptable term?

TenPenny - there upset with drinking in public and underage drinking.

that is the problem if they did it private as a couple of said even in the written article it would of been better. no one would of gave a butt care.

and you don't assume your countries going to win by a long start. That is how people were before mricle on ice... happen... yea it was back than but still anything can happen.

countryboy -NO konw said they couldn't have beer or cig.. its in PUBLIC VIEW IS THE DAMN PROBLEM READ BETWEEN THE DAMN FREAKING LINES.

No one is complaing about that. the fact of the matter what there complain about is the ice hockey party... after words... not in locker room where should of been.

Good grief. How sad for you I am.

Well, some of us do, TenPenny but don't count me among them.
Me, either.
Besides, it wasn't women that started smoking things to begin with. Typical male behavior; introduce a bad habit to women and then blame us for it. lol

Don't forget the crowd cheering USA! when the US was getting their silver medals. To me that was a great gesture and appreciation , not forgetting their efforts .

You betcha, EB. The crowd was even able to put some smiles on the faces of US team which were pretty sullen up to the that point. Couldn't help thinking how disappointed I was in them for their country. They had come to the Olympics and were taking a Silver Medal home with them. Their country is proud of them and they should have had the grace to show their appreciation rather than the frowns and glowers that were well in evidence.

Didn't you know Silver is the worst medal to get in Hockey? It just reminds you that you lost Gold. Bronze , well you get a medal or you get nothing.

Any other country would have been happier than a pig in doodoo.(look at Finland and their bronze) The yanks are just too arrogant.
