I can appreciate your outrage, on any day, however I am a little hesitant to support your suggestion as a solution to the problem.

Execution would be better for everybody rather than prison where corruption might lessen their punishment , and it's cheaper..... why Chinese over Gitmo like facilities?

Why the US military had to be at the opening ceremonies of a school that had already been bombed (and rebuilt) must have been public knowledge.
It's when you stop feeling outrage over incidents like this that you really have a problem.
I doubt a shoplifter sent to jail in China is tortured endlessly and killed before his sentence is over.
You would get treated quite differently if you were a foreigner caught with a van full of explosives.

I did read that and I just informed you that it was not like they were having a training mission at the school. It was a convoy that was rammed by a car and the blast killed nearby children. You blame the soldiers just as much and call them stupid. I was once one of those "neanderthal grunts" and I am biting my tongue a lot.
There isn't much I can say about that without dragging this in the mud and I don't want to do that with you. You're on my buddy list remember.
Honesty Anna...how the heck did they know a guy was going to ram them there. How many schools in the town? Markets? Housing? Hospitals? You know if it was up to the soldiers they'd rather duke it out in the hills and wastelands. The insurgents like to set off IEDs and car bombs in populated areas.

Yeah, and I was angry when I posted it. And at the time I posted it, the news was that the military was doing a training mission at the school. Now it is apparent that they were just driving by the school. If it were me, they would not be near schools in the first place.
Yup. Because, IMO, if one is military and does not want civilians to be killed because one is a target, it makes sense to not go near civilians.

I know.And normally I have a lot of respect for some miltary personnel, but I sure have none for those military personnel.
Then why not plan their routes in those places rather than where kids might possibly get killed because of "collateral damage"?

Why do they choose those areas? It couldn't be that one of the reasons is because their enemy wanders around in these areas, could it? I know they are indiscriminate, but I also know they like to target opposing military.
Civilian infrastructure are the prime targets simply because there you will find civilians. It does not matter to the drone geeks, the heat signatures validate the targets and the button is pushed. It's is not individuals that are targeted it is civilian assemblies, free assembly is the target. This strategy denies congregation and sows discord and promote disinformation. The indiginous communication network is the target. It is impossible to conduct a war without civilians. You can have battles without them but then there is no prize and therefore no win..

The way I see it, with every dead US soldier, 10 or more children over there may live to see adulthood. Is that a bad thing to hope for?
Nope. But then I think that because those 10 kids may be spared is incidental to your hatred of Americans. And your numbers are off. How many US soldiers were there? Lots. How many kids were killed? 3.

You can read that it is totally harmless to it will destroy the world. DU was used in the 1st Gulf War extensively, nothing like blowing up a tank hiding behind a 30ft thick sand berm. They really are quite impressive. But back then no one knew what long term effects would be. Today technology has moved on.
