Oh oh...it sounds like you're assuming that aliens are all one race. Apparently, they come in various colors too. Greys, greens, and so on. I'm not sure if the alien races have any racism issues...perhaps that is limited to us earthlings. If memory serves (from too many trips to Google), the greys are the good guys, and the greens are the bad ones. According to humans. Which makes that interpretation questionable, at best.
The greys like to perform anal probes on us and the greens may like us with a side of fries. I think they are both racist in some respects. The aliens on V may just be humans that left the planet thousands of years ago and have returned to smarten up their dumber cousins.

cool... don't like your neighbour, and they happen to not be the same colour as you, you get your ass run out of town. Sounds like a real utopia. lol.
lol I had that thought, too. I'm pretty sure they are talking about the less savory characters in society (like the bigoted ones), rather than the various colored, shaped, and sized ones.

There was a Star Trek rerun on tv a couple weeks ago where one alien looked like a terrible representation of a rock and was probably made from foam and spray painted. (I had problems with how its propulsion system was described).

Was it rude?

Have you ever checked out "Sergeant Clifford Stone" via Google? (Note his given name!) You might find it quite interesting...

The "...one alien looked like a terrible representation of a rock and was probably made from foam and spray painted. (I had problems with how its propulsion system was described)."

Just wondering how they described the alien's propulsion system...

It was an underground creature and apparently it made tunnels to get around in by spitting acid out in front of it. But they didn't say anything about how it propelled itself through these tunnels. I'd be underneath the thing in a Noo Yawk minit trying to figure out how it moved. lol
Spock talked to it through his mind thing. lol I guess he forgot to ask.

that episode was "the devil in the dark", it aired the day after my birthday in 1967 (and 6 years before I was born, but still the day after my b-day)
Sorry, off topic.

I personally don't even use the term "race", since technically we're all just subspecies anyways. Whether an african violet has purple or white flowers, it's still the same Genus.
By the whole "race" logic I should have more in common (genetically) with a totally dark-skinned person from Ethiopia than I do with a white dwarf

There is only one race. People are just variations on a theme.

Yep, and that's what makes the world an interesting place. I hope Russell Peters is wrong - in his comedy routine, he claims all the people in the world are going to end up being beige. I hope he's wrong!:lol::lol:

Note: Russell Peters is a popular Canadian comedian, now living in the U.S.

Thank you for the clarification of "wealth"...I was basing my comments on your sentence "Everybody has to be equal and the wealth has to be spread around so everyone can be equal." Excuse me for taking "wealth" to mean "money" - don't know why I did that!

Can you help me with your second point, "Your example of a black man resenting a white man maybe because he is barred from the corporate boardroom." I may have said that, but where? I'm not sure of the point here. I know there are people of all colors and races on corporate boards around the world, but I'm just not sure what we were discussing relative to your second point above.

Your third point above, "If everyone had access to the same opportunities that the person chooses and is treated the same way then jealousy would not be there and racism would be gone as well"... sounds a little utopian, but maybe I am not sure I understand that one either.

I'm not sure which opportunities you mean here. Could you break that down into some examples? I certainly agree that "access to opportunities" is important, but it's quite a sweeping statement and it would be wrong for me to assume that I know what you're talking about it here. A few examples, please...thanks!
Education is the key along with exposure to differences among people - Some schools have brought babies into the classroom and found that certain bad behaviors as such went on the down scale -

NS is doing another review as to why Blacks in the Prov - 50 % drop out rate and a very small percentage continue on to secondary education - Answering that is also key. Stats Can - and I have the stats somewhere showed diffences between 2nd - 3rd generation immigrants as to how well they did - Meaning secondary education - University - College

If you are in a group - Under 18 - ages 12 to 18 - and feel that you are discriminated against by whites - shall we say Black just for conversation - The group attitude will soon become the majority opinion of many - regardless of whether it is fact or fiction - and that in itself reinforces the belief - Does not matter if you did not qualify for the job - fired for being late - could not grasp the operational requirements for the position - Human nature can at times look for the easiest way out or to lay blame.

Now the parents - if they encountered blatant racism - say 20 years before they had children that experience can and I would suggest is often passed on to their children -

They are telling what they experienced as a person their sons or daughters age.

And then we have 3 major civil rights leaders from the US - All Black - and each are a piece of shiiite to me. Al Sharpton - Jesse Jackson - Louis Farrakhan - All Racists -

Some more so than others -

And then we have a legal decision that was split along racial lines - OJ Simpson

Racism like any other journey begins one step at a time -Having segregated schools will leave a stigma on these students - unless these schools do better on rating than the vast majority - That in itself is another expectation from society - You want segregated schools - so we expect more from you ( black) - than from a school that is not segregated.

I am still waiting for a reply on the below.
That is the criteria I use, what is the black consensus.

That can be a dangerous criteria to use - and it is on topic - victims can be biased as well

Open question for any and all

This past summer while home on vacation my wife, brother and I were talking about racism -

My brother posed a question -Would you like to have been born as a Native- Aboriginal in this country
The answer is no.

Poor medical care - treated like crap by many - highest rates for just about every illness on the board - limited opportunities - and then many bands are so corrupt and nothing is done by any Govt. This list could go on for quite some time - But if there is a group that is clearly discriminated against it is First Nations people.
