Yes -- you're right! We must complete Bush's plans of world conquest and the New World Order BY INVADING CANADA!

You know how you hear all that stuff about Canadians being so nice and polite and humble, gopher???? It is all true, we are simply a wonderful bunch of folks up here. Yet one wrong move in our direction and you would have little old ladies like me packing iron and manning barricades in defense of my country.
I don't have to flaunt my patriotism, it lives within my heart and soul.

Apathy is one of the defining characteristics of a Canadian - unless we were invaded. Then I think the tiger would awake with a vengeance that would surprise even Canadians.

And to this latest war movement, we give a nobel peace prizes. I wonder if he has that thing shoved in a trunk some where. It is difficult to fathom how the man in charge of a military budget larger than that of the rest of the world combined can get a prize for peace making.

I think the military/industrial complex controls the presidency and that Obama (like any president) has no choice in the matter but to do their bidding. I think one of the main tenets of American foreign policy is that there can only be peace once they annihilate their opponent (real or imaginary). Kill 'em all and let god sort it out!

Well said Cliffy. I still think giving the peace price to a president of the biggest militar/industrial complex in the world and especially one with a history and record of the U.S.'s was the most bizzare thing I've ever seen.

Yes, well, perhaps the military/industrial complex controls the Nobel organization too. I think it is multi-national, not just American. War is about profit not idealism.

Perhaps the one thing that some people are missing is that to obtain peace, sometimes it's necessary to engage in war.

I think that was a phrase made up by the military/industrial complex to justify their profit making ventures.

Gopher, I remember in the canada.com forum we had a very lively discussion about Alberta separation (there is a small separatist movement in Alberta). There I made this very point.

If Alberta does manage to separate from Canada, very likely in a few years she will be absorbed by USA. Even if USA does not directly invade Alberta, USA will make Albertans ‘an offer they can’t refuse’.

I assume you are referring to Obama? He is hardly the first US president to get the Nobel peace Prize, there have been others before him.

As one Christian missionary once said, “In the name of Jesus Christ, kill’em all!”

I am only kidding of course. A Christian missionary did say that, but he was referring to the squiggly things inhabiting the drinking water in many countries of Africa and Asia.

But I do agree with your sentiment.

Canada? I thought Bush was supposed to invade Iran. How did that prediction turn out for the libs?

FAILED.

Won't happen, SirJP. Alberta will join BC, Sask, Yukon and then we will go after Alaska and Washington states as from what I have seen in my travels, the people of both states are more in line with the way Canadians think then the rest of the US, and feel just as ostracized from their central government as many of us in the West once did (at least until we elected the Conservatives). Owning a good chunk of the Pacific coast and all those valuable sea ports, resources, etc will give us the power to keep the states at bay.:lol::lol:

I know it won’t happen, Mowich. The separatist movement in the west is tiny. And we did discuss the possibility of the four Western provinces forming a separate country.

My response to that was that such an entity will be lucky to stay together for one year (I will see if I can dig up the thread from Canada.com forum and give a link here).

The four western provinces, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC are totally different from each other, I don’t see them getting along. Currently they are united in their dislike of Ottawa, and particularly of Ontario. Take that away and what have you got? There is no glue to hold them together.
