To you nothing may be any proof
Wrong. I accept proof as being incontrovertible, demonstrable, and repeatable.Unfortunately, nothing you provide fits those traits.

You are prepared to deny.
Right. I am also prepared to accept. What comes between is verification.

So what did he object to me, and what did I answer him!?

Depends on how the word is defined. All the dictionaries I've consulted offer multiple definitions, but the gist of them is that a prophet is simply somebody with a divinely inspired message, it doesn't necessarily involve predicting future events. Buddha would qualify as a prophet under many definitions. Dictionary.com offers this, for instance:

1. a person who speaks for God or a deity, or by divine inspiration.

2. (in the Old Testament)
a. a person chosen to speak for God and to guide the people of Israel: Moses was the greatest of Old Testament prophets.
b. (often initial capital letter
) one of the Major or Minor Prophets.
c. one of a band of ecstatic visionaries claiming divine inspiration and, according to popular belief, possessing magical powers.
d. a person who practices divination.
3. one of a class of persons in the early church, next in order after the apostles, recognized as inspired to utter special revelations and predictions. 1 Cor. 12:28.

4. the Prophet, Muhammad, the founder of Islam.

5. a person regarded as, or claiming to be, an inspired teacher or leader.

6. a person who foretells or predicts what is to come: a weather prophet; prophets of doom.

7. a spokesperson of some doctrine, cause, or movement.

Buddha I think would qualify under definitions 1, 5, and 7.

The true prophet of God and the false prophets of idols

The word نبيّ in Arabic, or prophet in English, means one who tells many things in the name of God, according to what God reveals to him: i.e he brings revelation from God.

It does not necessarily means to foretell about the future, but of course the prophet will tell something about the unknown knowledge of the forefuture, particularly about Doomsday.

So the prophet is one to whom God reveals,

and the apostle (or the messenger) is the one who brings the message to people: he is sent by God to people, bearing some instructions: usually concerning the devotion to God alone and the warning of Fire for disbelievers and idolaters, and the glad tidings of Paradise for the believers.

Such are the true prophets of God, in comparison with the false prophets of idols like the false prophets of the idol Baal at the time of Prophet Elia: in the story of Prophet Elia with Achab and his wife Jezabel.

So the true prophet invites people to God alone, while the false prophet is he that invites people to the idolatry, the association and the enthusiasm about many prophets and righteous men.

We see right there the weakness of Islam in its fight against the infidels. To be able to endure the sacrifice this fight requires from its fighters, these fighters must be convinced that their present and future states were not merely expected but also predicted by their leader. In other words, it is precisely because Mohammed is not a prophet that his fighters are now defeated.

Mohammed is not a prophet precisely because his Koran contains no prophecies (predictions).

Prophet Mohammed - salam be to him - received the revelation and the Quran from God Almighty, by means of Gabriel the angel.

The Quran included many prophecies or predictions about the future events like:

  • The Quran told that the disbelievers among the Meccan will be defeated and will run away. As in the Quran 54: 45
  • The Quran told that the Greek (Rum Bizantite) who had been defeated by the Persian; the Quran foretold that those Greek would overcome the Persian, then that both the Greek and the Persian will be defeated by the Muslims, and that such a thing would take place within few years 3-9 years.
As in the Quran 30: 2-5
  • The Quran foretold many events that were not present at the time of the revealing of the Quran, but occurred later like the two corruptions and transgression of the Israelite toward Muslims in the future :)which is the present time now) and that the Israelite will be defeated (the thing that has not yet occurred.)
As in the Quran 17: 3-8

  • Moreover, the Quran told in many soorahs or chapters about the events of Doomsday in details, and told about the portents of Doomsday.

Mohammed is a true prophet, but Muslims now are not true believers

No, you cannot say your words as a rule.

I tell you how this is:

It is not because Mohammed is not a prophet; but because Muslims have fallen in the mistakes of the past nations of Jews and Christians: Muslims now have fallen in the enthusiasm about their saints: the imams and shaikhs and companions of the Prophet.

To prove this: I ask you was Moses a true prophet or not?
Then why were the Israelites defeated by Nabuchodonosor who was an idolater?

The answer: Because the Israelites fell in the idolatry and worshipped the gods of the other nations of the idolaters: Astaroth, Baalim, the star Sirius in addition to the two calves of gold made by Jeroboam the son of Nabat.

And why were Byzantites who were Christians defeated by Muslims at the early years of the Islam: Was Jesus not a true prophet or was Mohammed not a true prophet?

No, but because Muslims were devoted to God alone at that time, and Christians were associating Jesus with God Almighty.

So when you will see Muslims devoted to God alone and leaving their enthusism about their imams and companions of the prophet, then you will find them victorious and nothing may stand in their faces; and I think this will take place in the near future; as is it predicted in the Quran and the Psalms of David.

And this is in the Quran 21: 105

وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِي الزَّبُورِ مِن بَعْدِ الذِّكْرِ أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ الصَّالِحُونَ ..الخ

The explanation:
(We have written in the Psalms after [writing] the admonition: "My righteous servants shall inherit the earth."

Surely, in this [writing in the Psalms] is an 'informing' to a people who serve [God, and are righteous.])

And this is in the Psalm 37:
"8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don't fret, it leads only to evildoing.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off, But those who wait for God shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn't there.
11 But the humble shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."

Now isn’t this precious? A devout Muslim and a devout Christian fighting each other as to which is the true God. Well you guys, Dalai Lama or Buddha has as much claim to be a Prophet as Abraham or Mohammed.

Now, Abraham may be a Judeo Christian (and Muslim) Prophet and Dalai Lama maybe a Buddhist Prophet. Buddhism has as much claim to the truth as Islam or Christianity (i.e. none). So Buddhist claim that Buddha is a Prophet is fully as much valid as Muslim claim that Mohammed is a Prophet or the Christian claim that Jesus is a Messiah.

Perhaps it is about time I came up with a Prophet or two for Applism.

Abraham was a Sumerian. How did he end up starting so many religions that have nothing to do with, or acknowledge Sumeria or its people?

I think I have already told you my theory about that. In my opinion Abraham is modification of the name Brahma, which is a Hindu God. He is one of the Hindu Gods of the Trinity, the one who created the world.

It is quite possible that from Hinduism, Brahma traveled to Sumeria, Judea, then onto Christianity and Islam.

Mohammed has certainly copied Jewish prophets for defensive purposes but a real prophet makes his predictions happen not through normal means but through miracles.

Great stuff Big. A self-styled intellectual are ya? Just what we need around here. I hear Ignatieff is looking for an adviser. Have you applied? Your superior knowledge is exactly what he's looking for. Combined with your obvious charm he should be looking at a Liberal majority come next election.

After one week courting me on the same thread, it was about time that you follow me on another.

Such a great creation as the Chinese; I don't think God would neglect them and would not send them any apostle; and it is in the Quran that God sent many apostles to all nations.

And I asked the late interpreter of the Quran and the Bible about Budda: was he a prophet of God (like Moses, Jesus and Mohammed)? and he answered:

"I don't know; he is not menitioned in the Quran [although God did not mention in the Quran all the apostles and prophets.]; so in case Budda invited people to God alone, then he was a true prophet of God; but if not, then he was not any prophet."

This is in the Quran 21: 25
The explanation:
(We never sent any messenger [to his people] before you [Mohammed], unless We revealed to him [saying]:
"There is no god [in the universe] but I [: God]; so [O people] serve Me [alone.]")

My personal opinion: I think he might have been a prophet, but later on his teachings were distorted into a sort of idol worship [like Christians who make statues of Jesus and his mother and kneel to them; in spite of that the First Commandment forbid the erection and adoration of any graven thing or statue or idol.]

However, God is the All-Knowing; but all people now have to follow the Glorious Quran which is the last heavenly revealed book.

Buddhists are not into idol worship, eanassir. They don’t worship idols of God. According to Buddhists, God is too distant an entity, he does not concern himself with day to day life of people.

Buddhists worship Buddha (who was very much a man, though a Prophet according to Buddhists), not God. In a Buddhist pagoda, you will find statues of Buddha, not statues of God.

So Buddhists are not into idol worship in the sense that Hindus are.

I'm not going to follow a book. They don't go anywhere. They sit on desks and shelves.
