JLM, did you know that Lou Dobbs is also a ‘birther’? He has demanded that Obama release his birth certificate. To me, that alone is enough to condemn him. Anybody who gives any credence to the extreme right wing conspiracy nuts (who claim that Obama is an illegal alien) is not really credible, as far as I am concerned.

The facts reported by him may be credible, though. I don’t see him inventing facts, as far right routinely does. CNN would crack down on him hard.

OOOOooooooh S.J.- I think you've been reading too many comic books. I had never even heard of the "word" birther until today and when I checked it out it appears to be a "word" contrived specifically to discredit Obama. No way Dobbs is going to fall for that hooey. If you watched Lou Dobbs for any length of time at all you would know that most of his philosophy falls along the lines of your definition of "left wing".

Strings Obama may be a fake American but he's a genuine prick. I hope Americans get socialist medicine just like Canada, it's only fair that the American people find out about suppositories from public health care professionals rather than their politicians.

Some of Canada's problems with health care stem from the fact that Canada is the second largest country in terms of land area, and thirty sixth largest in terms of population. Generally, doctors, like most people want to live in larger, modern, centers with easy access to shopping, schools, universities, etc. Such conveniences are not readily available in all small towns so we end up paying doctors in these areas extra to work there. As it is, we lose doctors to the U.S. every year because they want more money.

Like most great people I guess he has his fair share of detractors.

Show me the scales that you read the measure of the man from. Show me the great works of the man. Tell me the stories of power and glory. Where's the ****ing beef?

I would have thought the onus would be on you, the one who is doing the bad mouthing.

Easy, he's still compels the nation to war and not the same but a wider conflict. He steadfastly refuses a new 9/11 investigation and he still panders to big pharma his biggest contributors, he refuses to support an audit of the federal reserve and he fawns over and continues to bankroll the Zionist State murderers. He's another mouthpiece in a nice suit. His administration is deeply involved in the Honduran coup he actively supports the destabalization of Venesuela and Iran and Pakistan, to name just a few of the nations that must bear American covert and overt acts of war. I've omitted the next twebty-five pages. Now show me your pile. It's not always the great that must bear detraction.

Then you obviously don’t watch Lou Dobbs regularly, JLM, I do watch him from time to time. He has demanded that Obama produce his birth certificate. He has given respectability to the conspiracy nuts, the birthers.

In response to that, the CNN bigwig Klein (he is head of something at CNN, I am not sure what, perhaps head of News) issued a statement saying that the issue of Obama’s birth is settled. He didn’t’ specifically tell Dobbs to knock it off, but he as much as implied it. Dobbs however, is sticking to his guns.

Dobbs is credible only because he works for CNN, and CNN is credible. If he leaves CNN and joins FOX, I wouldn’t give him the time of the day.

MRI wait times soar

So province makes data no longer easily accessible
By TOM BRODBECK, COLUMNIST

The Doer government has quietly yanked its wait time data for diagnostic tests such as MRIs from the Manitoba Health home page on its website.

Now I know why. Wait times for MRIs have nearly quadrupled over the past two years and I suppose government would rather keep that a secret.
Manitoba Health used to make it very easy to click on a "information on wait times" icon on its home page, providing the public with easy access to wait times for diagnostic tests such as elective ultrasounds, CT scans and MRIs, broken down by individual hospitals.
In fact, they used to feature it right on the main government home page.
Ballooned
No more. Now you have to navigate through a search function or an index to find the data, which are no longer displayed as a link anywhere on Manitoba Health's main page.
When you eventually find the information you'll see why.
Wait times for MRIs have ballooned as high as 21 weeks at the Pan Am Clinic. At Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface General Hospital, the wait time is 19 weeks.
Brandon Regional Health Centre has the lowest wait time for MRIs at 10 weeks. But people in the Boundary Trails region in central Manitoba also have to wait 19 weeks for an elective MRI.
All told, the Manitoba average is 19 weeks, close to four times what it was in 2007.
Average wait times for MRIs were about five weeks in 2007, down from 15 weeks in 2002.
But they have since soared. The average wait time is now higher than it was in 2002, despite the billions of tax dollars we now pour into the province's health-care system.
Naturally, wait times for MRIs aren't the only gauge of success or failure in a health- care system.
But it is one of the most important tools for doctors to diagnose a broad range of ailments and medical conditions.Doctors can't treat patients if they can't diagnose them. And waiting five months for an MRI to get a diagnosis is unacceptable.

He could retort back all he wanted, he supplied no evidence for his statement, either ancedotal or otherwise.

As far as your statements, they would be fine if it was restricted to one hospital, but it wasn't. Our experiences cover Langley memorial, MSA (abbotsford), Womens Hospital, Childrens Hospital, Royal Columbian, Burnaby General, Rocky Ridge (Calgary). A number of GP's and specialists, with no real appreciable wait to see the specialists. just lately, when it was decided that i needed cortisone shots into my shoulder, after x rays indicated it was screwed, it took just 2 days to get into the specialized unit to have those injections.

When my wife was in the Hospital after her heart attack, they allowed her to bring the entire frickin computer in and set it up at her bed so she could do the payroll for the small company that she worked for, and this was a small hospital, not a big city hospital.

Doctor shortages in rural areas is not something that just happens in Canada. Our neighbours south of the border have similar problems. Doctors can make more money in the city than they can in a rural area, that is just a fact, and has nothing to do with our medical system.
Nuts. I don't care if doctors are in short supply here, there, and hither. We are talking about CANADIAN healthcare.
The FACT that there are shortages more in one area than another shows that Canadians don't have equal healthcare.
Since when to doctors' wages have nothing to do with healthcare? They should do their jobs for free then.

I thought we were talking about medical treatment, not fringe benefits. It's a given that all the rest would be at their finger tips if they needed or wanted it.
So you think nutrition has nothing to do with healthcare? Even humor has been shown to have an effect on healthcare. Give people good food and they will recover better than those who are given crap for food.

He has been in power for only six months. Give him at least two years before you judge him.

Judgement of the system he's a party to alieveates the need for a two year review of Strings Obama. The system only passes worthys through the filter therfore he's a worthy of theirs and as such he's not worthy of my consideration and deserves nothing but the fairest trial a nation in turmoil can provide. I condemned the worthless dog vomit two years before his election.

Now that is the proper attitude, darkbeaver. Condemn the man even before you know anything about him.

Hah! You condemned Harper before you knew anything about him. Or should I say "The Messiah"? You didn't give him 2 months let alone 2 years. Sorry Sir Joe but what's good for the goose .......
