I don't know if I mentioned this before but it's been bothering me lately. What kind of stupid omnipotent god works six straight days and then takes the seventh off? If I were god I would have finished the whole thing before brunch on the first day and then lounged about for the rest of the week. I don't think that god was especially bright.

I think human life will come to an end long before the Earth will expire. The virus of humanity is reaching critical mass.

I'm not so sure about that myself Cliffy. There is a lot of rubble in near space perhaps they, (if there was they's) voiced the same thing just before the big light struck them.
I don't think we're viral either but that appearance and the talk has fattened a lot of accounts. Those that exercise the stranglehold on food and wealth and the distribution of same for a long time have used that reasoning to advance thier privilaged continuation. There is plenty to go arround but the rich and powerful will have none of it, they are the ones who perpetuate starvation and want they are the ones who advocate population reduction by any and all means. The earth is not a stable or static platform, it's variable in size and charge and position.

When you are God with some time on your hands what do you do for fun and relaxation??? I hope He isn't the kind that blows all He makes in 6 days in just one day. I've heard that can be done.

I'm doing a respond to occurences of "Peter the Roman" - Canadian Content is in the 401-500 page of results.

"Peter the Roman" is St. John the Baptist resurrected.

For the why and how this makes sense, maybe some of you remember the prayer, "world without end".
When did the catholic church start believing in reincarnation?

it is a custom to change the ideas whenever they fail in catching the day or lose the power on people( they-some jackals of Jews,Muslims and Christians )
if religions weren't at the service for some jackals and were kept only in hearts, the world would be great to live in...

Certainly, religion is about power and control. That is why I say I am a spiritual anarchist. What I believe is my path. I don't expect anyone else to believe the same. The journey is a very personal one. Following the crowd will only lead a person down a blind alley.

but you are very good at telling those that have chosen to follow the path laid out by organized religion that they are wrong.

That is my opinion, yes. It is no different than you having an opinion about anything. If you paid attention, you would see that when I refute the claims of the religious it is usually those who claim that their way is the only way and that everybody else has to follow or burn for all eternity.

People like eanassir, herald and coldstream are absolutists, it is their way or else. I say there are no absolutes, only beliefs and opinions. The absolutists are spreading hatred of other's beliefs and in doing so, sow the seeds of bigotry and prejudice. Their absolutism scares people who are unsure or insecure, into choosing a belief that is not theirs. The true spiritual path is an adventure in seeking the truth. It is a personal journey where there are no absolutes, only experiences and insights. It is only for the brave and sturdy of heart.

here's the thing, I have seen you and your buddies having fun "crucifying" the Catholic Church, yet the Catholic Church does not, for the most part, believe in absolutes.

I have noticed lately, that this new Pope is starting to admit there is a problem in the church, re: child molesting. In the past it was swept under the carpet and the perpetrators were hidden and protected from prosecution. This hypocrisy is at the core of most ridicule of the church, but the scandal in Ireland has made it impossible to hide or ignore anymore. So I am hoping that the church will once and for all deal with this abomination in a more public and transparent way. Then the church's credibility may be restored and much of the ridicule will subside.

I'm all for ending the catholic church. How much longer do we have to wait?
Til hell freezes over? I think the church will live or die over the child molesting issue and how they deal with it. The church has done a lot of good in the world but it has also done a lot of harm. It needs to set its house in order or shut it down. I will not hold my breath.

I have challenged absolutists many time, to show me even one absolute. Nobody has ever been able to show me one yet (except in mathematics, like 1 + 1 = 2). There indeed are no absolutes. Thou shalt not kill is not an absolute. Thou shalt not lie, cheat or steal are not absolutes, it is easy to imagine circumstances where one would be justified to lie, to cheat or to steal (even to kill).

Those who claim that there are absolutes usually mean that their own morals are absolutes and the rest of the world must regard them as absolute truths, and obey them.

My hope is that the recent child abuse scandals in Ireland will loosen Catholic Church’s iron grip over Irish society. Even contraceptives are illegal in Ireland (or used to be until very recently, I am not aware what the situation is at present).

I remember when I lived in UK (almost 30 years ago); progressives in Ireland were trying to legalize contraception (that is what a liberal meant in Ireland, somebody who wants to legalize contraception). To which the Church was adamantly opposed. Church’s argument was that if women had access to contraception, it will induce them to have sex outside marriage (and we can’t have that, that is a worse crime than anything else imaginable, child sex abuse pales in comparison).

I'll give you an absolute: oxygen is necessary for human life.
Another? The velocity of light in a vacuum is 299,792,458 meters per second.
More? The circumference of a circle with diameter 1 is π.

lol Porky doesn't deal well with people who point out his errors.

Anyway, religious prophecies are profuse. They're also no better than anyone else's prophecies and in some cases are worse. Catholic prophecies are no different.

The Vatican will never accept any 'end times ' prophecy. They have the most successful LONG term bs franchise on earth.

Ya don't mess with success.

"Woe to them that desire the day of the Lord:
to what end is it for you?
the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light." Amos 5:18

--

The following is a summary of the sequence of end-time events based on the Scriptures, the writings of the early Church Fathers, the Saints and noted Catholic scholars.

-Three days of darkness and the great chastisement (associated with a comet).

I've tailored the original post to update the selected content that the Three Days of Darkness must come no later than November 24-26, 2016 A.D.; if it doesn't, the whole matter of the Three Days of Darkness has been blown way out of proportion based on the following facts :

The Resurrection of the Dead has at least begun as early as June 25, 1956 A.D.

The First Year of the Judgment has come beginning on September 1, 2015 A.D. (as well as November 29, 2015 A.D.).

For the sake of the Elect, such judgments as outlined in accounts of what the Three Days of Darkness is supposed to be like would not continue into a second year.
