My question would either be Why or Why not.Mine would be; " Why are you jealous"?
That about sums it up. I mean, if there is this god of the desert, and it is so insecure that it demands our constant adoration, then one must assume that it is an insignificant little ego not worth consideration. It really doesn't matter.
On the other hand we have a living planet that provides all our food, clothing and shelter. That might be worthy of consideration. But I think the Earth deserves our respect, not adoration, as, it seems to me, she offers her bounty without expectation.
I am not sure about the gods of deserts and mountains, but there are lots of sea gods: Oceanus, Tethys, Poseidon, Ægir, Neptune, Dagon, Fu Hsi, etc.Is there a god of the desert and another god of the mountain or sea? What is this? Is it some new idolatry and polytheism?
Planets and indeed our universe do not have intelligence or other human attributes. And you do respect the living planet; has it any intelligence and wisdom; and is it so kind and merciful to give you all your food, clothing and shelter?
What? And some people here sanctify the idols of the ancient, but to God Almighty they do not glorify!
Yeah - I did the same when the dammed hammer hit my thumb again and again - Good for you - I bet you put that rock in its place - to scared to move I bet. Check and be sure though, they can be sneaky.Boy, I sure gave that rock I stubbed my toe on a guilty conscience. I told it that it was a really mean rock. I told it that it was stupid, too.
Cliff, I know you mean only the very best. However, some cancers just cannot be cured. Do you think all these big rich movie stars are going to die off if there was a cure for all cancers? I believe there are cancer cures that are not being divuleged but to say there is a cure for all cancers could lead a person to spending all kinds of money they don't have and the end result will be the same. I have lost two people to lung cancer. One lived 3 years. That is 2.5 yrs. longer than the doctor predicted. The other had such heavy treatment (in Regina)that was so hard on his body, he had a massive heart attack and that took him. We don't know how bad this man's cancer is. It may be so far advanced, nothing can be done. Maybe the best they can do is enjoy the time he has left. I don't want to be a downer but neither do I like false hope. Hope is good but sometimes too much of it is not the best thing. I haven't gone back and read all the posts on this so I hope I'm not out of line. If I am, I am sorry.
Hi Uncle Percy,You asked "Will there be a cure for my Thomas?"
I asked "Give me a cure for my Thomas."
No, my husband is not in dire straights yet. His cancer is still active, and the oncologist has whispered to me that this is fatal. We will find out the next step on April 7. He had two lung tumors and was in remission for 2 years. It is inoperable. He has had chemo twice, and the last session did not completely cure it. We are watching and waiting.
However, he has had 3 good years and continues to work in his garden and makes nice birdhouses and lawn furniture for the neighbors. He is in terrible pain with his knees, walks with a cane, but his quality of life is still fairly good. He eats like a horse and gained 37 lbs.
