I don't believe it took genius to predict the bursting sub-prime bubble, since I did, a year or so ago. And with it a stock market melt, due to the pillage of the cash-house and resultant borrowing by Bush and the B u s h i t e s

Riots et al. Mehhhh. If the politicos don't see to it that the folks are fed. Yep.

Some dick puts a bullet in Obama. Yep.

A Mars bar requires a wheelbarrow full of cash. Yep.

With PO & Co. at the reins it looks bleak, unless young Trudeau gets involved.

I made that statement on the other forum and nobody thought he was ready to take the helm. I think we need someone young, energetic and idealistic to take the helm away from these tired old farts.

Give me the job then.... frig, this is all old news.... I've been going on about how crappy things are going to get (Borderline Apoctaliptic) for at least the last 7-8 years, and no matter where I went, everybody trivialized it and said "Oh it'll never get that bad.... our worst problems in the future will be Global Warming... OOooOOoOooo...." ~ Then this crap happens..... and again, and again, and as predicted it is all going down the crapper.... plunger and all.

But nobody starts to pay attention until some guy who get's paid to write crap like this stuff finally figures it all out 7-8 years later.... and then everybody starts worrying about what they're going to do for food, gas, sheltering their families, etc etc etc......talking about how it's going to get so bad like it's some kind of suprise.

That's right! I'm gonna stand here like the cocky lil' sh*t that I am, point my finger and say, once again "I Told you all So!" ~ But nobody bothers to listen to plain logic until some guy high in an office makes a report with all of the very worst case situations...... then everybody starts getting scared sh*tless, pick up that sh*t and place it all in a bag for later because you never know when you're going to need it again in an emergency, it's that bad.

I said the markets would come crushing down on themselves due to their own stupidity, I said the bailouts would do anything good in regards to solving the issues, The Governments wouldn't do enough to resolve it, Global Warming was a farce, Iraq was illegal from the get Go, The Smurfs are actually real and living today in the deep forests of Sweeden..... everything..... and nobody listened.

You know what? Never mind..... don't give me the job, because it'll be the exact same damn thing.... nobody will listen or take anything seriously, so why bother? I'm just going to load up my equipment, my supplies, everything I've been prepping for all these years and head to Newfoundland to avoid the hell that's coming to the world.

Screw it, you all had your warnings and chances.... some of you knew them to be true.... some just figured it would all blow over like some things have done in the past..... well newsflash: it's not going to be perfect and sunshiny forever, let alone for the least, the rest of our lives...... sh*t was going to go down sooner or later.... be that when you were 12 years old or 83..... it'll come a knocking, and it has been knocking. Now it's all fed up, walked around to our back door and now it's setting fire to it and the rest of our house..... we're gonna burn I tells ya!!

But why am I telling you? You never listened before anyways. You'll smell the smoke coming after you, it'll creep up the stairway, towards your bedroom, seep under your door and you'll just lie there on your bed by the TV, turn to your loved one and say "Dr. Penfield, I smell burnt toast...." And then you're toast!

^ Just remember.... Crazy things can be true too!

Yeah pretty much along those lines.... Candy will cost more the lobsters, people will be beheading their political leaders, everybody will be walking or riding horse, the cow that jumps over the moon is really the moon itself that shoots the milky way all over us from it's udder, pickles will start eating people, cockroaches will be their masters as they ride the pickles into the sunset waving their mini-cowboy hats in the air..... and when the sun actually sets, it'll actually hit the ground, smash into a billion pieces, we'll be left in total darkness forever and have to rely on our children's Glow worm to see our way around until we eventually evolve to use bat sonar with our tounges flicking all over the place.... good for the ladies, bad for chapped lips.

Interesting isn't even the word for it..... Wierd is more like it..... we're in for one hell of a ride. :p

So, despite producing so much food the no1 killer is obesity (and we still export food).

We are all going to starve to death. Ignoring that we have enough fuel domestically to last for decades, its all going to run out.

Ignoring we could then also turn some of our vast excess food into more fuel, we are going to run out.

Ignoring we could use our vast hydro and nuclear electric potential into transportation (such as rail)

We will run out.

And in 4 years. Its possible we could have a drought like the dustbowl again, and have it coincide with an economic depression. Even still, the world is alot more industrialized now so there is alot more demand for raw resources.

Its simply not physically possible barring massive unexpected disasters. And if thats the case, then Johhny Doomsayer can't predict it. You can't predict an unknown meteor strike.

Canada - A country rich in resources and a people that know not what to do with it. This has been our problem since Confederation. It has been exasperated in the last few decades by the de-skilling of the population.
A show of hands please! Who carries a jacknife with them? Who has a garden? Who could fix a car, build a fire without matches, who has camping equipment they can use if the power goes out? Who could butcher and store an animal without refrigeration? Who has a gun and ammo? Who has a skill that could be valuable in an economic downturn that they could barter with? Who has a selection of books they could refer to if there was no power for the computer? Who knows who their neighbours are? Who knows which direction they would travel if the economy goes to heck in a handbasket?
Money and a mortgage free abode will get you a little further down the road but self sufficiency skills will keep you going. It is best to be prepared and have nothing happen than to not prepare and the merde hits the fan!

We could use the dust to fill sandbags in anticipation of the floods that just have to come a couple years after the drought...

If we think about this for a bit, North america, including the U.S. Canada, and Mexico, can provide everything we need including all the food we need. North America can also defend its self. Now, who's going to steal our food?

I don't buy the predictions.

How long will you walk? Food = gasoline

I think it's already started, it may be preventable but definitely not easily. If I was to list the problems I'd be here all day. One of the biggest is the advances in communication- we are being fed too much bull****- that we take at face value and the T.V. is one of the biggest offenders- 30% of T.V. time is spent trying to sell us sub standard junk we don't need and robbing us while they are at it. We are also being fed a lot of B.S. (sometimes quite subtlelly) leading us to believe we have to change to conform. Why do 2 or 3 people need 3000 square feet of living space? It ain't going to continue.
