Hmm, that's interesting, because I'm pretty sure I read that Zimmerman said Trayvon approached him from behind, they exchanged words, and Trayvon punched him in the face. Yes yes, I just googled it again, that seems to be his story.
And Zimmerman also said he saw Martin approaching him so he took a few steps towards him. He told that to the cops. And that is what one witness testified to.

O and he wasn't told to "stay put",
That phrase is mine and pretty much means the same thing as what the 911 op said.
he was told "we don't need you to do that", the "that" being follow him.
That, sounds like your opinion of what the op meant. So much for "just the facts".
So he didn't.
Again, is that fact or just someone's testimony?

lol, yeah, I guess I've just been pwned, right? lol
If that's how you want to view it, it's fine by me.

Ahh, a few steps. What a hunter. OK fair enough.

Nope, not at all, the 911 op said they don't need him to follow Trayvon.

That, sounds like your opinion of what the op meant. So much for "just the facts".

Yup, just my opinion:

911 dispatcher:
Are you following him? [2:24]
Zimmerman:
Yeah. [2:25]
911 dispatcher:
OK.
We don’t need you to do that. [2:26]

Again, is that fact or just someone's testimony?

Testimony, which is evidence, which is all we have to go on.

But. . . but. . . Gil, he said he's pretty sure he read it somewhere!

How can you presume to question such a clearly verified truth?

He also said he just googled it and confirmed what he thought he had read. We should ignore that part though, because it wouldn't fit our vitriolic narrative.

See for yourself:

The Orlando Sentinel reported that George Zimmerman told police he lost 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in the neighborhood he regularly patrolled and was walking back to his vehicle last month when the youth approached him from behind.

And in his own words. Not that I believe you care about the truth either way, but anyhow....

You got that right. Zimmerman is a fool, which alas! is not a crime in Florida. Otherwise, he acted legally in self-defence.

All y'all can quibble and squabble as much as pleases you. I don't need you to know I'm right, it suffices me that I know I'm right.

And hunters don't follow their prey right?

Nope, not at all, the 911 op said they don't need him to follow Trayvon.
Not at all? So what do uyou think I meant by "stay put" if you think I meant it to mean something else?

Yup, just my opinion:

Zimmerman:
Yeah. [2:25]

OK.

Yeah, that sure means Zimmerman didn't follow him. Thanks for posting the evidence you were wrong.

Testimony, which is evidence, which is all we have to go on.
Nope. There is other evidence available.

But whatever, I am not going to read the rest of your spiel, so think what you want. Zimmerman instigated the entire incident.

That's terrible! I missed the news that Zimmerman is dead.

No, not for real — a major disappointment to the bloodthirsty Zimmerman lynch mob. But the Twitter death toll rose again after a fake TMZ account announced “exclusive photos” of a dead Zimmerman.

It's just a bunch of losers on Twitter making death threats.. They'd have to leave their mom's basement and put down their Obama-phone. Not likely to happen.

Reading the posts trashing Obama and Martin in the same breath and claiming their views are not racist, I say "дерьмо быка!"

Okay, so... I got an idea.

A site should be set up that will be an online Canadian Supreme Court... to which disuptants can submit cases. It won't have any legal binding, therefore it will be on the level of an American "Dispute Resolution Centre", but it will be based on nine judges who vote a decision, after hearing all arguments.

The judges will be determined by vote. Candidates submit their desire to serve, and everyone (including the candidate) gets one vote. The top nine get the title, duties, responsibilities, and authorities of being a "Judge".

Lawyers will be the pro-bono multitude of other forum subscribers.

Before volunteering to be a Judge, remember, you can't put your personal opinion into the argument (that gets saved for the decision), so if you like to D'rant (a word I thought of today, which stands for "drunken-rant") then don't volunteer to be a Judge. Frankly, Judge-position is probably better for lurkers, but how do you vote for a lurker?

Of course I could write the code myself, but these days software-developement has been knocked down to the level of steam-engineer, and there's so much good forum software out there, so which open-source package would be best for implementing a system like that?

I have the servers and I have the tech-support. Let's hear the best candidates for (probably PHP/mySQL based) packages exist to be formed into a function like that.

Of course, if anyone thinks they can do it faster and/or better upon opening of that egg, go ahead... let's see... just beware - in terms of final product - the MBA scoopycats.

And... to keep that post relevant for this thread, I'll have to say: The Zimmerman descision might be a travesty, but as one Canadian Judge said... it's better to let nine guilty people go than convict one innocent person. My take is the decision was about all the Judge could do with the evidence he got, regardless of what his guts might have been telling him. Sort'a leads to an argument for mass video-monitoring of a nation in order to provide more "first-hand witness".
