oh so happy,i just purchased my third Whitewater cookbook,it is titled "Whitewater Cooks","with friends",I am just about feeling complete with cookbook joy,but once again i am one short,I am no farther ahead.I thought i was one cookbook short a month ago,but i was really two short,I am catching up.The illustrations in the Whitewater cookbook series are a good feel deal,and have come to the conclusion where one lives will not dictate availability of food choices but more so people will drive the market of food choices,Nelson is filled with wonderful availability of foodie choices,not like where i live,but things are improving. But as a true foodie, the hunt for the ingriedant is part of the adventure, I love adventure..As a cookbook lover i receive cookbooks as gifts,"the Butcher,the Baker,The Wine and Cheese Maker,"an okanagan cookbook by Jennifer Schell is one of the gifted cookbooks I have received,i love everything about it,but more so i like the pictures of the people faces in this cookbook",people living the dream" and it shows on their faces,I like this,this provides me with cookbook joy.
I love to watch people enjoy food,i think this is because i enjoy food and the social impact it creates,i love the conversation of the gathering around food ,I tend to get more enjoyment from others eating my food then eating others food.As my grandmother before me,I really enjoy watching my family,the people i love enjoy my food,it is somewhat of a satisfaction and gratification beyond explanation,I think it has something to do with genetics.
I would rather cook then clean my house,as a matter of fact i would rather do anything before cleaning my house,these women who say "cleaning relaxes me" are a mystery to my thought process,but not unfamiliar as l have many friends who like to clean,sometimes i pay them to clean for me.I was born to have a maid,but noone cares.Unfortunately the house has to be cleaned,particularly with dogs in the house,what a waste of good time.
I love to cook,i still burn things,(rarely),but i am a terrible baker,i have been working on this limitation,I don't have much luck on some things,my cookies and squares are winners,my vanilla slices need some work..
Last winter i perfected my pizza crust,this brings me to the author James Mcnair and his series of cookbooks, the best pizza book i have invested in,he also has an excellent wrap cookbook, i would reccomend investing in James pizza cookbook
