I think every school here in Melbourne has a uniform all have to wear.... which look kind of weird, but of course, I never lived through a school with uniforms, so I'm just not accustomed to it.

Apparently they help more with kids who can't afford all the trendy and expensive fashions & removes that element of competition in school, so that everybody is pretty well on the same level..... which makes sense, but imo, it comes at the expense of individual identity and expression.

I'd agree if the kids were expected to have a uniform haircut and hairstyle, and dress that way 24/7.

When I was teaching a very attractive grade 12 student (18???) arrived in what looked like an elastic bandage dress.............very short, very low cut, incredibly clingy, obviously with a minimum of undergarments (or that's what they told me....I didn't notice)........she wasn't at school long that day... :)

There are lines..

it's awesome how women are so slu tty now that they need to regulate the type of shyt they wear. Oh the poor teenager doesn't have the right to have her a$$ showing to the rest of the world. however will she manage to sleep with 50 guys by the time she even makes it to college. She's a modern independent woman, after all. She has the right to spread STI's around the world. Feminism has really evolved hasn't it.

It's called freedom to make your own decisions, so that you don't wind up in the bottom of a canal because you dared to oppose your father.

Keep in mind what I said:

"removes that element of competition in school"

What kids do or wear outside of school hours and school property is a different story.

The entire time I was in school, I didn't associate with any other students outside of school hours, mostly because I lived two towns away, but also because I didn't like anybody.... but it was a common thing for people to be made fun of if they weren't wearing the cool stuff everybody else was, or looked like they shopped at Wal-Mart.

ahhhh, I knew there would be at least one on here with Daddy issues that might respond. I guess skanking it around town because your Dad hates you is about "freedom" now. I have a dream... where all women will have camel toes showing from age 12 on. Know girl will be denied her right to be a little tart and pretend it's about "finding herself" and becoming an "independent woman"

girl power!!!!

but hey, why the hell is chivalry dead again?

I knew there would be at least one on here that wants to cover their women from head to toe, and make them wear veils in public. I have a dream...where all women are property of their men, and all men have 4 wives.

I've had that dream too!!!

This isn't about veils either, nice exaggeration. This is about under age girls wearing clothes that leave an outline of their vagina,, and nothing at all left to the imagination in public. It's completely inappropriate. if you want to be sexually liberated (nice term for being a sl ut) that's fine, if you're an adult. While at a public institution, and while you're under age, you should dress appropriately.

the thing that's especially stupid about this is, a woman/girl/whatever looks better dressed with some modicum of class anyways. These pants are terrible. Most of the people wearing them are too fat to be wearing them anyways and the ones that do look sexually appealing, would look appealing in jeans, a skirt, a dress, or something appropriate anyways. The adults that have the right to dress however they want, look just as stupid, if not way worse than the young girls do anyways. These pants aren't nice. They aren't stylish. If you wear them for anything but actual yoga, you like a damn fool.
