Why the heck would he want to stay? I sure wouldn't. I bet Crawford Texas looks a lot better each day to him.

That is also a very good political science question. After the first 4 years one would wonder why he would stick it out for another 4, but he did. And most of everything I have ever seen during his rule in the US shows he doesn't really give a crap what the people of the US wants or what people think of him.... he's got his own way of doing things and seems to carry them out regardless of what everybody else tells him..... so while you wouldn't want to stay around after such dismal decisions and situations, and I sure would have stepped down a long time ago as well..... that doesn't seem to be something that computes in his brain...... syntax error 101, reset to default programming each time for him.

You see...the end of the Bush Era is upon them. It has been a great 8 years.

Now what?

It can't just end!

They NEED this in their lives to justify their existence.

No, people like me can start loving the U.S. again unless of course Obama goes down the same path as Bush but somehow I doubt it.

Interesting how in one night with the removal of American cons from Washington the view from the world has changed.

Sort of like when Darth Vader throws the Emperor down that shaft, the evil somehow dissipates and common good shines through.

Two more months of the prick and you guys can end the worst chapter in modern history and look to the future even though I know that is hard for cons to do.

I envy you.

LOL, great all right, 9-11 the highlight, right?

Then an illegal war.

Hmmmm don't exactly follow your logic here...

Oh, thats right no brain, no logic...

Well if you followed what I was saying you would have better understood. What I meant is that it was a great 8 years of US bashing here on CanCon. Now you pretty much got what you want. Bush is out, McCain lost and Obama is in. Most all of the Republicans are out of Congress and the Democrats are in.

It is clearly a liberal controlled government here in the US. So any bashing being done you are basically bashing the government that you wanted in. True?

I've heard it said more than a few times that American 'liberal' is like Canadian 'conservative'. So don't hold your breath for understanding and camaraderie Eagle. Not that I wouldn't like to see it, just, don't count on it.

Oh I do not expect that in the slightest. Like I have been insinuating, some folks love to hate the USA. They get off on it. It brings them happiness and joy.

I personally sure as hell don't get any joy out of it.... when was the last time you saw me come on here and boast and brag about something I actually enjoy?

I express what I feel is wrong or what angers me, or what I find interesting...... but I certainly don't come on here to post things that bug the hell out of me (The US in paticular) for enjoyment purposes.

If everything is good in the world, you won't hear a peep from me..... but until that day......

If you have something that will make me praise and adore your good old USofA, show it, because up to now I certainly haven't seen anything.....

I do not expect you to praise or adore the USA. If I was to show you things we did well you would most likely scoff at it anyways. What's the point? You do not like America or Americans and that is that. We're all typical arrogant stupid Yankees to you.

Good day to you Eagle, one thing is certain is that the American People have prospered during the Democrats in power, throughout history the Democrat’s foreign policy was always one of conciliatory politics, the American people in general are peace lovers, the political right wing in the US ARE THE REASON WHY AMERICA IN MANY CORNERS OF THE WORLD IS HATED.....
Absolutely nothing to do with bigotry of you being a stupid Yank. If I can speak for Risus he gets cranky almost every time you or I come on.........

But things aren't always rosy when the Democrats are in office. Look at Carter and the Iranian Hostage crisis. Every week we were getting an embassy sacked. We don't have an embassy in Libya to this day because it was raided and burned to the ground with the approval of the Libyan government. Sure Bush had his 9/11 but during Clinton's era we had the USS Cole, Kobi (sic?) Towers, and embassies bombed in Africa. So having a Democrat President does not instantly win adulation around the world. It can help but there are some governments that are eyeing Obama closely and seeing what his weaknesses are.

American liberals are just as internationally intrusive as cons if not more.....Kennedy was the one that went into Vietnam and cons are the ones that pulled out.....hows that for irony?

Hello everybody. I am a new blogger, just signed on.

Avro, that may be. However, with Obama in power, USA’s attitude towards other nations will be less arrogant, more conciliatory. That does not mean that USA won’t undertake any international operations. But they will be more in the mode of Kosovo operation, which was carried out will full agreement and support of NATO, or even invasion of Kuwait, which was carried out with UN support.

Democrats tend to be more supportive of UN. According to the far right Republican base, USA should get out of UN right away. So we will certainly see the difference with Obama in office, compared to Bush.

The only visible weakness is that the US has no disposable income which may make things a little difficult for Obama from no fault of his own....

I think the irony is McCain would have been like a Wrecking Ball in Washington DC, more an agent of change than Obama will be.

But you never know until someone is in position.

Past performance does not always ensure or predict future performance, as my stock broker tells me, and who is forced to tell me by mandate of law.

:)

McCain wanted to win in Iraq, no matter what, don't leave before Victory. He would not
negotiate with iran or anyone else, a firm military crony, probably still mad because
he spent all those years as a prisoner of war, don't blame him for that, but the presidency
is no place for someone who is so focused on 'war' and 'victory'. He is stuck in the past
and should ride off into the sunset, and give this presidency over to a diplomat and a
peaceful person, a younger person, and a person who will see the world much differently.
