If they were beer swilling, cigar smoking women on a daily basis - they would never have been part of the Olympics. They won GOLD. They deserved their day of celebration.

god you people just don't get it. it sending the wrong message to kids. it saying its ok to smoke cigs/drink

in public view... drinking in public is against the law. You are supporting it like it was nothing. yet you all bitch and complain about other people.

It is okay to smoke cigars and drink-get a life!

There is no excuse for personal insults, JLM. It is only the weak minds, the ones with low self esteem, who try to boost their ego by insulting others (it doesn't work, of course).

Absolutely correct - now it's up to the people who are receiving the insults to ensure their behaviour is better than those hurling the insults.

Sure they deserved a celebration, but they did not have to make a spectacle of themselves and set a bad example to millions of teenagers.

They didn't set a bad example Sir Joe. Everyone knows it is not common for women in particular to be smoking cigars. That alone makes it funny! It's a special time in and for our country. Give them a break. It will be at least 4 more years before they can make such a "spectacle" of themselves again. I seriously doubt they have permanently damaged any children's minds.

You still don't get it, VanIsle. I have no problem them doing anything they want. My problem is with them doing it in public, especially the smoking part.

I blame the following pictures (taken two years ago) on the Canadian
Woman's Olympic Hockey Team. For Shame!

Such a negative influence on Teenage Girls, and on me too, I guess.;-)

I'm say'n the whole thing is overblown & ridiculous. I'm not even sure how this
is even a news story beyond a "Good on ya' all!!!" for the Canadian Woman's
Hockey Team.

It would take a man of DurkaDurka's caliber to even describe the celebration
by the Snowboarders...and we're not hearing anything about that, so...it's a
total non-issue.
To a point I'll agree but anything that happens that looks bad in Olympics is going to be on news no matter what.

You know , if this was the mens gold medal celebration it wouldn't of made the news .
But god forbid a woman has the right to celebrate and have a cigar
Hypocrocy
where your prove of this before you start calling people hypocrocy? again its been said nuermous times we didn't have a problem with the smoking or drinking. it was in "public view"

From where I sit I notice some posters get bashed/insulted more than others and while I'm not a psychologist or mind reader, I think I have some insight. I think admitting it when you are wrong makes a big difference- after all who isn't wrong sometimes?

true we are never perfect and if you make in assult apoglize to the person and accept whats coming.

It is okay to smoke cigars and drink-get a life!

Yea ok there jaycee... You don't need to smoke/drink to have fun or celebrate at all.
don't tell me to get a life at all next time. You should know wrong from right.

Its because if he concedes to that he loses his arguement totally.
if that was the case than it would of never got in media attention your still lost. and yet you still insulted me avoid my points. Yet now you say something....
