If there were just the two of us in this conversation, I'd still say there are at least two of us who don't have a clue what you're on about....

Now that you've broadcast there are no real men in here, why don't you give us your definition of a real man - and please make it better than your response to "Who are non-taxpayers?" .

The real difference between liberals and conservatives: Jonathan Haidt on TED.com

A real moral man will do the care part and not the harm part of the first moral tenet shown here.

Is "women and children first" really a gentlman thing or just part of marine superstition?

Personally, I would be inclined to take turns being inside the lifeboat and being in the water hanging onto the gun'l.

Hubby would get the boat, I'd swim. End of story. He's the bread winner, but he also has lead legs while I have always been abundantly buoyant. It would make zero sense for me to sit in a life boat and watch him tire and drown, when he could pretty much reach over the edge, hold my hand, and make sure I bobbed along beside them.

Hopefully not off the coast of Newfoundland in April. That was tried once I heard and didn't work out so well.

I'd still have a better chance than him. I literally would stay afloat once hypothermia hit, versus his sinking like a stone.

Does it make sense for the person with the least fighting chance to take to the water?

I've yet to go on a cruise. If I ever do. I'm packing a tractor tire inner tube and a nitrogen bottle to fill it. Screw the rest of y' all.

Sure does.

Off topic... Newfoundland (Calvert-Caplin Bay) was were my Grandparents were from. My grandmother (RIP) was a kid when the Titanic sunk and she talked about going up and down the beaches looking and collecting debris. I doubt they ever knew the debris would be worth a fortune these days. A deck chair was auctioned off for $100K I believe.

Because I want a partner not a subordinate. It makes no sense to 'put men in their place'.

my mom used to do that to my dad......

"I make the most money so its my ****in rules"

My dad took it.... But i didnt...

I love my mom even though she is manipulative.....

And because of that kind of parenting ive only ever been in love with 1 female my whole life... Im very nice to women in general and im a chivalrous man in rl. I see alot of women doing to men what my mom did... R|ight now im searching for mrs right, but i think im looking in the wrong areas... :lol:

They say nice guys finish last but thats because the generic nice guy cant stand up for himself :lol:

And zero males(cause i know your wondering) unless you consider my obsession with megatron a homosexual relationship :lol:

The end for you perhaps but then your husband would have to live with people putting him in the captain coward club for the rest of his life.

You might get his view and come back and tell us what he thinks of your plan to shame him.

Yeah, don't use your head, use your adopted sense of morals. F'n idiocy. And anyone with half a sense of self-worth shouldn't give two hoots about what others think.

IF -Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

I am a man and my wife and children would get the life boat seat before any man.

Sorry to hear that you are less than a man.

I will wait and see what kind of man Karrie's husband is.
