If only the stuff would take effect as soon as it was injected.
Stripped naked and put in a shipping container to North Korea.
Stripped naked, genitals covered with honey, and tied down near anthill.
Set afloat in waters full of box jellyfish or something equally nasty.
Tattooed with something nasty like "Niggers are stoopid" and dropped off in Harlem or someplace.
Forehead tattooed with "HIV+".

.

Now Annie- that would be getting nasty.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lol::lol:

Which raises another issue- Compulsory training in the use of all firearms, explosives etc. should form a major part of the highschool curriculum and to graduate students should be required to demonstrate proficient use and handling of pistols, shotguns and rifles. This could be just as much a life saving measure as learning how to swim and also make them proficient at putting meat on the table when the recession hits and reduce the need to go running for welfare.

Hmmm... I didn't quite follow the link betwen knowing how to fire a weapon and putting meat on the table... Well, I can think of one link, but not a positive one:lol:

Unless you meant that it could help some students get jobs as security guards, police officers, soldiers and such? I suppose.

I could agree to compulsory 'self-defense' courses in high school, as long as there was some choice there. First off, not all students would feel comfortable handling a firearm; and secondly, what happens when you're cought without your firearm?

Looking at it that way, I could see the school giving students a choice between firearms instruction and some kind of empty-handed martial art for those who don't feel comfortable handling firearms.

That said, I do agree with you in principle that some kind of self-defense should be compulsory in school as long as there is some choice of what kind of self-defense.

As for welfare, I still don't follow the logic there though.

Well, I was thinking in hard times they could shoot game like deer, grouse, rabbits etc. but I suppose in this day and age the game population has dwindled so much it couldn't support too many hunters. I think kids that are uncomfortable handling weapons are so because they've had no experience with them and once they got a little experience they'd soon be comfortable. It didn't take me long as a kid of about 11 getting comfortable with a .22 and I got pretty proficient at shooting grouse. But I digress, the important aspect is self preservation when the human animal is out to do you in.

Imagine all the stuff you could do with them while they are napping?

They'd be very lucky if they had me. The worst I'd likely do to them (unless they forced me to defend myself of course) would be to turn them over to the police. But I could imagine what some people would do to them.

I've never shot a pistol in my life, but have shot paper targets and animals for food with a rifle. Though I'm a city dweller, my father insisted I go hunting with him on occasion, and of course I learnt how to fire a rifle in the military obviously.

Overall I found the noise irritating at times, and couldn't imagine having to carry a firearm on me everywhere I went (I feel burdened enough with all the toonies in my wallet at times). That said, I still enjoyed the challenge of hitting the target, though it did get boring at times owing to the lack of physical movement of the body and the repeated action of firing at the same target all the times. It did feel a little redundant and monotonous at times. That's where I can see martial arts instruction perhaps fitting the personality types of some. After all, knowing how to use a pistol ain't too useful if you never carry one on you since when you need it, you're not likely to have it. Sure a pistol is more useful that martial arts knowledge, but that's on the assumption that you don't mind lugging a firearm with you everywhere you go. For those of us who like to travel light, then martial arts training would be more useful.
