I thought the "new GM" was going to focus on what it does best... building cars.

New GM to launch fragrance line

Plans to launch line of scented products for men on Cadillac's 100th anniversary seen as 'silliness'

It's not the smell of the interior of a new luxury model, the whiff of gasoline or even the aroma of burning rubber.
It's much more. It's the luminous fresh scent from grapefruit and camomile and a mix of geranium, tarragon and cinnamon – plus sweet spice and incense.
Think of "Cadillac, the new fragrance for men."
Sputtering General Motors Co., just out of a quick drive through bankruptcy court, will soon be using its iconic Cadillac brand to sell a line of fragrance for men.

That's awesome- hopefully they'll be able to make a competitor for ShamWow, and begin a K-tel style division that exclusively sells useless crap that nobody needs like the rotato express and the perfect pancake....

After all, producing and selling crappy junk is something GM is real good at

I find it surprising that GM would launch a cologne while they are under bankruptcy protection, their marketing department must have their heads buried in sand.

Crap is what a lot of people think when they think of GM, launching a cologne certainly won't help change those attitudes.

I think the cologne should smell of burning money with a hint of lavender.

My Dad had a Honda. It was red and a real neat little car. I think it was a S600 or something like that. 1968. First car I ever drove. He sold it to a collector instead of me. :( I think it was about 20 or 25 years old. Some piece of junk, huh?
I think I'd still rather have it than some 2009 Caddy.

I cringe when I think of using a '57 Dodge - complete with 392 Hemi - as a field car back in the day when '57 Dodges were a dime a dozen

Yep, worse than Japanese junk, god damn door handles fell off before you got it home from the factory.

Everybody's acting like this is a new direction. This is a small perk being offered By GM. Not a diversification plan.
