And you speak for the Canadian Government, do you?
Yes
The fact is that the Canadian Monarch has been given certain powers. You cannot give your Head of State certain powers and then get angry when they use them.
No one is getting angry, other than yourself.
In case you haven't figured it out, those '
powers' don't exist in a practical sense... Don't believe me? Try using them and once the collective Canadian stops laughing long enough to catch a breath, we'll politely tell you to go to hell
I have noticed over time on here that many Canadians think that their country is some sort of special case.
We are.. And we've earned it having pulled your fat out of the fire in 2 WWs
That the rest of the world thinks that Canada is important in world affairs and that it's taken notice of. In fact, the reality is different. Most of the world outside Canada rarely thinks about Canada.
That notion doesn't cross the minds of Canadians, but apparently, based on your fixation on it, I am guessing that deep down, you do feel Canada is more important that Old Blighty and possibly there is a little resentment on your part
The same is true of the monarchy. Many Canadians are of the impression that the Queen somehow treats Canada more favourably than she does the other Realms, that she somehow gets to wield less power in Canada than elsewhere.
Memo to Blackleaf:
No one in Canada cares about what you or the Queen really think of our independent, sovereign nation
It's a load of rubbish, of course. If the Queen wants to get rid of the Canadian Government or make Canada declare war on another country she can do that as much as she can in her other 15 Realms. The Queen could take Canada to war against the USA, Botswana or Chile and there's nothing you can do about it.
Look... If you guys need the help -
again - just ask... You'll go a lot farther assuming the rightful humility of your nation depending on others to fight your battles for them.
Hell, if you ask nice, maybe I'll put a good word into our buddies to the South and they'll help you too (
again)
