The main differences are Trump has a lot of bluster while Trudeau at least is polite. Trudeau probably has more brains. I would love to see a wall between the US and Canada. The US would soon see how much the more or less silent country to the north contributes to it's well being. No more taking credit for our contributions to their economy. Canada being more or less a socialist country, really does try to treat the tax payer as one of the most important individuals to please. That is why we have decent health care, care for those who cannot care for themselves, decent care for veterans (which perhaps can be augmented)and many other programs that are not dependent on contributions from citizens. In the US the average joes are led to believe, that over and above the regular taxes they pay, they are responsible for funding all the programs that Canada subsidizes through our taxes!!

Crap think about working as a bag man or a cart collector because your or your spouse need long term medical care that is not paid by your taxes.

You will get some idea of why the average American think Canadians are so lucky!! We are not lucky., our founding fathers were a little bit more far-seeing than theirs.

So Sure I do spend between 4 and 5 months down here. But tell me how many Americans could do the opposite?? Could the average American spend 4 to 5 months in Canada during the summer? Not so far as I can see. The prices are great here but oh my word the average standard of living is very much lower than any at home. I pay the average plumber, electrician, caprenter a lot more in Canada than I do here. It is true that that the 1% lives well here but the average Joe lives well below what we would consider the poverty line at home.

To be honest, I how no idea. Perhaps they have never had a voice. As long as the average American was unaware of his status it has not been a problem. With the communications today, even those with a modicum of smarts, are beginning to realize the systems are not really to his advantage. . When & how the change will come is a race between those who feel they are those that call the shots and those who are about to be slapped in the face with reality. I will try not to be around when it occurs.
