Yeah,,, how much has the Alberta economy fallen in the past 4 years ???
We don't need to replace ourselves,,certainly not with those who only want a free ride.
The 50s were prosperous years in B.C.- the lumber industry was booming as was mining and fishing. A lot of people bought brand new cars here in the 50s. Places like Port Alberni and Trail were in their hey day!
Over the previous year doesn't mean a hell of lot. 6% of nothing ain't much.
A) the 1950s were poverty stricken as compared to today
B) the 6% is not of nothing
C) is it your belief that putting a smiley face after a stupid comment makes it less stupid?
Sorry to enlighten you but you are wrong.................dead wrong. We have a perception of wealth today mainly because money is easy to get. In the 50s people paid cash for most of what they had, today we are mortgaged to the gunwales and as long as we can make that monthly payment we're oblivious to the real situation. Meanwhile the banks are screwing us! They are finally starting to smarten up a wee bit now but only to protect themselves. Guess they learned a lesson from Freddie and Fanny in the U.S. If you are smart you can use their money to your advantage but too many people aren't. They don't just mortgage the house they mortgage the gold faucets!

We most certainly do need to replace ourselves but of course not with free riders. The tax base sort of demands it.
I know lots of people who reside in AB and a year ago the economy was at pretty close to zero & I see the economy there is starting to "inch" ahead, so my statement is fairly accurate! Savvy?
