I dare you to ask your wife or any woman in your life with hair, to stop shampooing and just start doing bar soap, and see how they look in a week and a month.
Geez karrie, he might not come back from that request! I completely agree he's dead wrong about the bar of soap thing, but I don't think he should have to die for it. 8O

Lol

Which is fine... the charity is not lacking in KD. They are lacking in cash to supply fresh food, so I choose to donate that.

Part of why I started giving cash was someone talking about the need for soap, shampoo, and toilet paper at food banks. It was then that I realized how hard it is to truly fill the needs by donating items.

That is the parts they need money for. Our Lions club give a couple of thousand a year to the food bank. Quality Foods has a deal where they match the money we raise with groceries. Then there is the local potato farmer gives them a ton or so of spuds every year.

And you personally know these "cheap" well-to-do people and the charities they donate to?

I still see quite a potential gap between what you know and what you think you know. ;-)

The only thing you know for sure is that they didn't donate to your particular food drive charity.

A bit of overkill here re: Juan's comment, don't you think?

I had to re-read it myself to get the proper sense of it.

You are too stupid to see ****.

Then maybe you should join Juan and get checked out too. I understood what she said first read, and it looks like I'm not the only one that didn't have a problem understanding what she wrote.

Maybe I will if you tell me why they should

I have already answered that query. So, did you not read the thread? Or is Bear right and you're just in here to troll?

Well, try a little dish detergent and if that fails there's always a hat! -:)

Wow, and you expect your opinions to be taken seriously? Good luck with that.

In my time, I've had pro's try to insult me; your amateur effort didn't even quiver the needle. Seriously. :p

Excellent impression of a frustrated schoolmarm. ;-)

Article makes it sound like all seniors get a break on everything.
Interesting the article never mentions “IF YOU QUALIFY”.
No one in Alberta pays provincial health care premiums any more (done by Stelmach's conservatives. (for now...., I believe Redford's conservatives are contemplating changing that again..
The article says Alberta gives seniors a break on medical devices such as hearing aids. (My Mom needs hearing aids and also special orthotics for her feet. I don’t believe she gets a break on either. The orthotics are mega expensive.)
Again “IF YOU QUALIFY”.
QUOTE=#juan;1834985]Don't quite understand your reasoning. You now have enough money so you don't have to donate food to food drives? Beyond me I'm afraid.[/QUOTE]

The post by Karrie a couple weeks ago; I know exactly what she’s talking about. You can give stuff like KD and spaghetti and tea, etc. any time. But for Karrie to give cash to the local food bank....
‘I’d’ sure like some fresh food for the holidays. Maybe a ham, or potatoes or (lettuce) salad would be awesome!!!

We also got some pretty upscale foods from the less affluent neighbourhoods. Also stuff that nobody thinks of like pet food.
On 1 'food drive' I picked up a load of was disposable diapers.

Extra insurance is cheaper than the costs of Rx dental, optics, aid accessories and hospital or out patient costs that chew away the food and housing budget.

I don't think we'll see them disappear entirely, but we will see them scale back quite a bit. Given the enormous volume of Boomers, a scale back on a 15% discount is going to make a vast difference to the bottom line. They won't do away with it entirely because it's a massive consumer base and they don't want to alienate them.
You must be old to have accumulated so much wisdom, or were you born this smart?
