We'd play with our buddy Luther (black kid).
We'd watch The Cosby Show.
And like every other kid we dressed like Michael Jackson in the 4th grade Halloween party (we had those in school).

And nobody batted an eye. Want to know why?

Because nobody was racist or sexist. It was a nice time. A wonderful time. And I'd dare say that if an HONEST sociologist (ha ha, I know) were to study it, I'd bet we'd find race and sex relations to be at a peak during the 80's (bar the Olympiad Baby Boomers who were specializing in divorce at the time).

All those labels,I listened to my right wing friend label me at least ten times,wierd but true!
Right wingers need labels,so addicted to labels,and even are in the category of having a label lingo flavour every week,tossing the label around like they own the word
I try to look ashamed but the labels keep a coming
Labels incite and all the disoriented Conservatives like this
So let them have their cake and eat it too

I am sorry but a racist still means hatred of anyone not of one's race. Sexist, is hatred of anyone who is not how one sees anyone who does not confirm to their particular view of sex (remember there are males and females with different genetalia but some who were blessed or not with both!! (hermaphrodites). They are rare but now only because doctors no longer decide with snips as to which sex they really belong these are more prevalent, with the ability to love which ever person their fancy alights upon,

Since what one inherits is not one's choice, it is up to each individual to decide which way to swing, That makes anyone who objects to that person's choice is a sexist, There is one exception,,,,,,,,Pedophiles !! Every individual deserves to choose for themselves which way they will swing. Taking that choice away must be a criminal offense, I feel the same way regarding a woman opting for abortion.....at least until it becomes possible to determine definitely if there is a human soul and
a method of determining when it takes up residence,

So, in my opinion, it is up to each individual to judge only their own choices and options and keep their opinions of other's choices to themselves.

Ya the truth is being a racist and sexist still has negative connotations and
rightfully so. The truth is also clear the bigots, racists and sexists are like
the gay community used to be. The gay community used to insist on displaying
their lifestyle in the face of everyone. As of late the sexists, racists, and others
insist on demonstrating how ignorant they really are we see it everyday spread
by their new found leaders in places like Washington. Like it lump it, the rest of
us are no longer in doubt of who most are. The first signs someone might be
one is how they demonstrate their lack of civility in public places

Thirty-second spot for upcoming comedy unleashes empty, misguided fury of alt-right

Netflix unveiled the biting and already controversial first trailer for its series adaptation of Dear White People, which arrives April 28th.

The show expands on Justin Simien's 2014 movie of the same name, which chronicled the lives of several black students at a predominately white, Ivy-like university as racial tensions spike. In the new 30-second spot, protagonist Samantha White bluntly ticks off a list of acceptable Halloween costumes on her radio show: "Pirate, ****ty nurse, any of our first 43 presidents. Top of the list of unacceptable costumes: Me," she says amidst a flurry of photos of fellow students in blackface.

While the trailer captures the wicked humor of the original film, it unsurprisingly irked members of the so-called alt-right. As Fusion points out, Tim Treadstone, a former BuzzFeed writer who is now a prominent alt-right Twitter user, sparked the backlash by tweeting a screengrab of his Netflix cancellation notice and the message, "Netflix announced a new anti-white show (Dear White People) that promotes white genocide."

Treadstone, however, forgot to blur out his personal e-mail address in the photo, and as comeuppance for confusing satire that encourages critical thinking about racism in the 21st century with mass murder, he was signed up for 7,000 different mailing lists.

While others have since taken up Treadstone's protest, Simien responded to the empty fury on Facebook and in an interview with ETonline, noting he faced a similar deluge after the first trailer for the movie.

"But now, I feel strangely encouraged," he continued. "To see the sheer threat that people feel over a date announcement video featuring a woman of color (politely) asking not to be mocked makes it so clear why I made this show. I want those who are chronically unseen in the culture to feel seen. And I want those willing to extend empathy to experiences unlike theirs to understand their humanity more deeply."

Netflix's Dear White People will feature the same characters as the movie, though the cast includes both newcomers and performers from the film reprising their roles.

Yes, but it is a mental disorder which has brought us freedom of the press, universal suffrage, freedom of movement, greater social mobility, and pretty much every other democratic freedom we now have. Just exactly how many of our present rights and freedoms have conservatives contributed to?

Gez Grumpy - you're talking about the lefty's rioting in the streets, destroying property etc. 'cuz they don't like the election results! And amazingly, the conservatives are getting the blame! Huh!! Weird!
