Only 14% of Britons think American did the most to win WWII. They're very sensible those Brits.

32% of Norwegians think the British did the most to win the war, and only 23% think the Americans did the most to win it.

The winner of every war are those who carry off the spoils BL, all you lot did was carry off your dead.

The rest of the world except Norway... not so much. lol

There are only eight countries in the survey.

I like the Norwegians. They send us a Christmas tree every year which is erected on Trafalgar Square to thank us for kicking the Nazis out of Norway. What do they send America as an appreciation?

Cheap fish stolen from the British North Sea made possible by poor to non existant patrols by the Royal Navy.

Made possible by the CFP, which lets all and sundry into British waters, the richest fishing grounds in Europe, to steal our fish.

They're the only country that thinks that! lmao.

Why would you post a survey that is so in opposition to what you are trying to prove? It simply makes no sense. You are truly daft.

Even the main adversary of the European Theater gives the brits very little credit.

In none of those countries, bar America (and only just), do most people think America is mainly responsible for winning WWII.

You're having a tough time reading the survey I take it. That explains why you posted it.

And only one pompous "twit" (spelling with an "a" optional) thinks england could have won by itself......

Germany tried to invade Britain in 1940, before the US joined the war. This was the Battle of Britain. Over the course of the summer/autumn Britain - whilst taking on Germany ALONE - won that battle and Hitler finally cancelled his invasion plans (Operation Sea Lion). All before the US joined. If Britain was going to lose the war, it would have done then. Once the German invasion was beaten Germany was unable to win the war. Hitler would have eventually been defeated by the Soviets, or by a British atomic bomb.

BL is in quite the pickle here.

He has to revise history to explain how the Brits kicked the Nazi's from Norway.

And...

He has to read the survey again and give an explanation as to how he is reading it so wrong.

Foreign nations won the "so called" Battle of Britain.

And where or rather when did they have such a bomb?

From (I'm assuming) a Norwegian: The survivors of the battle of arnhem(british soldiers) and other survivors of british battles went to norway and liberated norway single handedly and it had nothing to do with the americans werent even near norway
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND

We also mustn't forget all those Norwegian refugees in Britain, aided by the British and the Norwegian government in exile (in exile in Britain, of course), who formed a light infantry force of 12,000 men who also took part in the operation.

A comment from an ASSUMED Norwegian on Yahoo does not answer the question.

How did the Brits kick the Nazi's out of Norway?

The British were doing clandestine research and devlopment in nuclear weapons as early as 1940. Starting BEFORE the Manhattan Project, it was the first nuclear weapons project of its type anywhere in the world.

How did the Brits kick the Nazi's out of Norway?

By doing a lot more than you did. That's why Britain gets a Christmas tree as a gift from Norway every single year and America gets nothing.

The US got the bomb first.

Anyhow... How did the Brits kick the Nazi's out of Norway.

(by the way... I went to that Yahoo page. Where does it say that commenter was Norwegian?)

I'll answer for you.

The Brits DID NOT kick the Nazi's out of Norway. The Nazi's DID drive the Brits into the North Sea and out of Norway at the beginning of the war and they only returned.... once again... after it was over and the Germans had surrendered. The Soviets and Norwegians liberated Norway for the most part.

Just another bit of history that you need to learn. ;)

The project was hidden under the code name High Explosive Research or HER and was based initially at the Ministry of Supply's Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) at Fort Halstead in Kent,[44] and also at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich. In 1951 it moved to a new site at AWRE Aldermaston in Berkshire. The Attlee ministry revealed the existence of a British atomic program in Parliament on 12 May 1948;[24] the announcement was viewed by Parliament, the press, and the people as uncontroversial.[40] However, although British scientists knew well the areas of the Manhattan Project in which they had worked they knew little of the other areas. Building a full-scale plant for production of weapons-grade U-235 would be very expensive,[24] and the McMahon Act prevented American technical aid. The government refused to provide public details on its progress beyond stating that atomic weapons research was of the highest priority, but it was assumed that the project was following the Americans' precedents. While Leader of the Opposition, Churchill criticised the government in February 1951 for not having completed an atomic weapon.[40][45]
