Last I checked, though research does show that a vegan diet can be at least as healthy as a meat-based one, the jury is still out on the question of whether it is actually healthier than a meat-based one.

I don't see how fields and fields of vegetables specifically cultivated for human consumption would be good for the environment. And there would be a lot of fields required if everybody suddenly stopped eating meat. I guess we could clear away some more rainforest for that.

All the acres used for cattle could produce far more vegetables and grain... no more land need be converted

If you go by the links on page one, livestock use up more land to raise and feed than a vegetable garden.......

What a clever retort... Guess that your science is just more sciencey than Flossies
Yes, in fact it is

Given supplements, it can be

We already produce enough food.

" Shifting to the diets recommended by Dietary Guidelines for American would increase energy use by 38 percent, water use by ten percent and greenhouse gas emissions by six percent, according to the paper."

Yeah, but is that healthy life worth living?

Absolutely... having the energy to be active and happy... why would anyone think a piece of steak on a plate is what makes life worth living. Having the energy and focus to spend time with my kids... cycling to different city festivals in the summer... going on winter walks and hikes... enjoying life's moments because your body isn't riddled with inflammation...

Yeah, life on vegetation is more than worth living.

I was at a mining camp where two vegitarians made such a stink that there was no vegetarian option that he complained until one day we all came back to a dinner without meat.

Of course i hear the vegitarian talking out loud about how everyone should thank him because they are eating healthy now.

The next day the dinners went back to normal and he disappeared later that week. Something about people bugging him because the vegan forced his view on everyone else.

The vegetarian option is to not eat meat so I don't understand what these 2 were complaining about since their logical option would be to eat everything except the meat.

And I don't consider myself healthier than if I did eat meat (although there is proof too much red meat can be bad) so again it seems you met some misguided individuals.......
