Of course there is. People need a well balanced diet. Humans are omnivores.

From the link above, it would seem that some athletes have succeeded on a vegan diet.

As for being omnivores , if you look at the human tooth structure, it's actually herbivorous.

Though I sometimes eat meat now, I'd gone years without meat before and never took supplements and never lacked any nutrient. Even now, the reason I sometimes eat meat has nothing to do with health, but rather social circumstances only.

Well I think I've proven that a vegan diet can be just as healthy as an omnivorous one.

Given enough supplements, of course. Other than religious quackery, there's no real point to it though but, like I've said, fill yer boots.

I was at a mining camp where two vegitarians made such a stink that there was no vegetarian option that he complained until one day we all came back to a dinner without meat.

Of course i hear the vegitarian talking out loud about how everyone should thank him because they are eating healthy now.

The next day the dinners went back to normal and he disappeared later that week. Something about people bugging him because the vegan forced his view on everyone else.

My only supplement for the years that I was a strict vegan was sunlight for vitamin d.

In that kind of situation, I would have requested vegan but still eaten meat if no balanced vegan option was available.

Also, I presume vegan can be expensive in more Northern climates.

I can adapt, but certainly am not religiously omnivorous.

Don't you dare speak against what other nationalities eat .....eg. halal foods, but the same people will attack you for your choice of food....
Does the name hypocrite troll comes to mind ??

I'd love to go vegetarian (it's certainly a lot healthier) but I just love the meat too much.

I don't see how fields and fields of vegetables specifically cultivated for human consumption would be good for the environment. And there would be a lot of fields required if everybody suddenly stopped eating meat. I guess we could clear away some more rainforest for that.
