Moderation in all things. Food is one of them.

Except sex. No such thing as too much of that.

I avoid fast food as much as possible,my job requires packing a lunch. However we also work long hours and often have a considerable drive so sometimes road food is essential. Never eat at rotten ronnies though. Will do Wendys or Subway if possible. Sometimes gas station food is all that is available. At home we never eat any crap, almost zero wheat or yeast and as much organic as we can get.

The fast food I have trouble turning down is KFC. I know the stuff is full of collestrol (sp) and transfat and salt but I eat it at least once a month and try not to feel gulity about it. KFC has got to be one of the worst foods for trawling fat onto your middle but the evil bastards in Kentucky have found a way to make artery hardening fat taste good

Rumor has it that Zombies hate -fast-food
That's because they are too slow to catch it.

my fave fast food.... pho soup. MMMMMmmm.
Mine is nabeyaki or sutamina udon (Japanese noodle soup). Nabeyaki and pho sound very similar.

lol
Original Kentucky Fried Chicken Coating Secret
Ingredients
2 envelopes tomato soup mix, preferably Lipton cup-o-soup brand (salty)
2 envelopes Italian dressing mix (more salt)
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoons dried chervil (optional, but makes a huge difference in taste)
1 teaspoon seasoned salt (more salt)
1 teaspoon instant chicken bouillon powder (more salt)
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon tarragon
1/2 teaspoon sage
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 cups pancake mix, preferably Bisquick brand (more salt)
Instructions for Making the Original KFC Recipe
Blend all of the Kentucky Fried Chicken ingredients for the coating in a blender.
The fried chicken coating is enough for a whole chicken, cut up. Soak the chicken pieces
in buttermilk for at least one hour in the refrigerator. Remove chicken from buttermilk
and roll in the chicken coating mixture above. Let chicken sit at room temperature while
waiting for the oil to get hot.

Deep fry if possible for the most authentic copy of the original Kentucky Fried Chicken
recipe. If that is not possible, use a cast iron skillet. Do not crowd the chicken when
placing into the skillet. Use lard or shortening if you really want that original Kentucky
Fried Chicken taste. If you're making this chicken recipe, chances are you weren't looking
for low-fat, healthy recipes.

Brown the chicken in the skillet on high heat. Then turn down the heat and cover the pan.
Cook until the fried chicken is done, about 30 minutes. During the last 5 or 10 minutes.

Recipe for grease-retaining, oily, large masses of LDL and a variety of detrimental substances. You should be fine if you wear it off & eat nothing but tofu and veggies for the next 2 weeks. lol

Nooooo. Everyone here is a fool except you, Jack.

Hey Anna- Any man who recognizes the importance of good Hungarian head cheese has got to have some smarts. As to the difference between fast food and junk food- junk food includes any pop and anything sold in a bag containing 50% salt content. Ham & eggs is fast food.

I certainly don't call a pizza fast food. A home made pizza is great.

Why just pick on fast food outlets? I am sure a burger and fries at Kelseys or Montanas is just as bad for you....

i'm not just picking on fast food joints. but they're the most popular because of the cost involved of buying their crap.

you can buy a Cheese burger Fries and Coke for like $6 and drive off, while at Kelsey's the burgers they serve alone can be $5 or more.. and then there's all the extra stuff you get.

plus you have to wait in line, sit in the restaurant, wait for them to make it, bring it to you and then you eat it and you're there for an hour..

Well, I guess if you want to eat crap, then go for your $6 meal.

some pizzas are pure junk food, empty white crust, loads of cheese, and cured meats, similar to what
they call pasta alfredo, 'a heart attack on a plate', BUT I have eaten very healthy pizzas, made with
multi grain crust, some cheese, spinach, pineapple, and any other ingredients one would want to add that
would keep it within the family of whole food.

They vary.

Yup. :) Either way, I wouldn't exactly call them fast food. lol Hubby ordered one last night (a medium BBQed chicken with peppers, onions, etc.) and spent an hour waiting for a large pepperoni. He didn't leave a tip.

If he ordered a medium bbq'd chicken, peppers and onions, and received a lerge pepperoni, I woudn't have even paid for the pizza.

I went out for supper last night and ordered a chicken satay pizza. One of the main reasons I ordered it was that the menu seemed to highlight the veggies... red peppers, snap peas, and bean sprouts. It sounded so delish. But apparently the chef preferred to highlight the salt marinated chicken, and some sort of gravy, again mainly salt, while scattering only a tiny amount of veggies on it. I'm pretty sure, despite it not being 'fast food', that I'd have been better off with a $6 meal from any fast food joint, than with that $20 culinary 'delight'. My hands and feet are actually swollen today thanks to the salt. Ugh.

Your choice. As it was we got a large pizza for the price of a medium. We both like pepperoni so we ate it anyway. Next time we order a pizza from there (it's the only place within 20 miles that makes pizza) we'll make sure to order by ingredients, not number.

Yeah. :( Couple maxims; if you want it done right, do it yourself and you pays your money and you takes your chances. :(

Pizza is OK once a month, it is NOT a healthy food.

I haven't exactly sworn off stuff like McD's and Burger King and Pizza Hut and whatnot, but I haven't visited any such places since the children were small either, and then it was only as a rare special treat. I don't like that kind of food. Too much fat and salt, and among other rather unpleasant side effects it sits like a rock in my gut for several hours. If I want a burger or a pizza, I can make much better ones myself.

which pizza? A sicilian thin crust with a nice tangy sauce, some grilled chicken, veggies, olives, and a light sprinkling of asiago cheese... nothing unhealthy about it.
