I guess if I was interested in reaching the jaded, I would think of something more entertaining.
Doesn't really matter how you describe it. The sentiment itself is a cliche. Like I said, I've been hearing this stuff all my life. It's now conformist to be non-conformist. Everything thinks they're special. Abstract thinking is encourage dby the establishment, even by corporate culture. They even made a movie about "escaping the Matrix", empty self-discovery tripe starring Julia Roberts. How can you be more a part of the cultural establishment if your sentiments are expressed in a Hollywood movie? The fact is that I posted it because I thought it would possibly stimulate conversation - an escape from the fighting over politics . I kinda thought that is what a forum was all about. And I wasn't saying "think outside the box". I was talking about "escaping the Matrix" but that is just another tired cliche, but I am too lazy to come up with something else at this time.
I support you in your quest for conversation, in particular non-election/political conversation.I guess if I was interested in reaching the jaded, I would think of something more entertaining. Did you say anything that might be considered as a 'plea for help'?
I think there are as many bouncing logic balls as there are people. Just look at this little forum we inhabit. There is little that everybody can agree on because our individual realities are coloured by our personal experiences of life. This does not necessarily mean that those who disagree with us are wrong or crazy or morons, it just means they see things differently. That is what makes life interesting but some find it threatening, something I have a hard time understanding. I am fascinated by other's opinions. I don't feel threatened by them. I see no reason to call someone a moron because I don't agree with them. That sort of response tells me there is fear behind the accusation.Anything could be considered as anything. Some folks have a hard time following the bouncing logic ball.

I cannot help or influence how people interpret or understand what I say. Just like there are thousands, possibly millions of ways to interpret the bible or any other book, everyone understands what they read or see according to their own way of perceiving. There is nothing clear about the way I post or write. I try to be in the moment and respond to what is before me with how I feel at that time. That is why some of what I post looks contradictory or inconsistent. Sometimes I just play devil's advocate, sometimes I play word association games with what I read. The only consistency is how you or anybody else interprets it. That I have no control over. Half the time I don't have control over myself. Insanity has its benefits. Not really. Most people have agendas and are led by them. Drop the agenda and look at things with an open mind. Forget about what's "right" or "wrong" and consider what "works" given what you wish to do.
Perhaps you need to rethink how you post in this forum because through your writing, it is quite clear that you are threatened by some opinions.

Any way to mark your posts so we can tell, ........ well you know... the control thing?Half the time I don't have control over myself. Insanity has its benefits.
It is OK. I wear Depends and the drugs they have me on lessen the inconsistencies somewhat.Any way to mark your posts so we can tell, ........ well you know... the control thing?
...One fact is the ones the 'West' calls 'terrorists' in Afghanistan and Iraq are called 'patriots' and if we were invaded in the same way our duty would be to kill as many of them as fast as we could. If we are 'bothered' by the methods they use to resist the invasion ( a very illegal and immoral one) in any way/shape/ form that is 'tuff'. Had our fathers not been so asleep at the wheel and changed some corrupt things before the two wars then they could well be avoided all together. Unfortunately that means some people willingly get into a box and tightly close it all by themselves.
