First of all, Obama is not as left of center as one thinks, he's been painted left
by those on the right, but in fact he is not that left at all. Obama is popular in
this country because people don't like the Republican agenda and believe it is
really being run by the Tea Party. That is not quite the case, it is influenced by
the Tea Party and has had it image tarnished by the Tea Party. Romney is in
the unenviable position of being forced to the right even further by the rebellious
right, who believe they have all the instant solutions to the problems of the
country.
Many forget, Obama inherited a giant pile of financial dung left behind by the
Bush Administration, seven and a half years of it to be sure, and it takes a long
time to bring back a measure of health and even longer to re-establish a full
measure of confidence. Obama is in a tough fight for re-election but I believe
people will chose him over Romney in the end. The difference won't come
down to who they like best, The reason they will support the President holding
their nose in some cases is because the Tea Party is behind door number three
in their minds, and the Tea Party no longer inspires confidence in the minds of
American voters. The second group that will come forward and support the
President? The Middle Class Voters who want to maintain the Medicare Benefits
they have achieved. No they are not adequate, and no they are not what was
promised, but its better than losing what they have achieved. Even if the
Republicans make the claim they won't scrap it the average voter does not
believe them.
