Maybe if the Christians who are so offended by this art display get out there and kill a few hundred of each other to get our attention.

But they won't.

And that of course is the difference between the Christians and Islam. Christians are all about the self, Islam is about the whole reilgion and all the people.



The entire video is fascinating and I recommend giving up the hour to watch it.

Not that I disagree or anything, but that really isn't the point.

Muslims offended, riot, White House official position, denounce source of offense.

Christians offend, a little complaining, White House official position, crickets.

Election theatrics, Fox News nuttery, double standards, ineptness, or whatever. It's a pattern.

In its boldest development in a generation, the Louvre Museum has a new wing dedicated to Islamic art, a nearly $130 million project that comes at a tense time between the West and the Muslim world.

Louvre curators tout their new Islamic Art department, which took 11 years to build and opens to the public on Saturday, as a way to help bridge cultural divides. They say it offers a highbrow and respectful counterpart to the recent unflattering depictions of the Prophet Muhammad in Western media that have sparked protests by many Muslims.

Still, one of the Louvre’s own consultants acknowledged that some Muslims could be “shocked” by three images of Muhammad with his face exposed in the new wing. Many Muslims believe the prophet should not be depicted at all — even in a flattering way — because it might encourage idolatry.

The Quran has no direct prohibition against depicting Mohammad, though it does contain verses saying that those who insult him are cursed.

Anyone doubting the beauty of Muslim art just needs to take a look at Spain, and the remnants of Moorish architecture, etc.

Oh, and yes, Islam has been going backwards ever since the 13th century.

And I wonder how long it will be until some idiot detonates himself in the Louvre because of the depiction of their cult hero??

I think people should have the common courtesy and judgment- the good judgment- not to be- not to offend other peoples’ faiths. It’s a very bad thing, I think, this guy’s doing.

There's a clear and obvious difference between thinking that something shouldn't be done, and thinking there should be a law against it.

If this guy wants to make 'art' that insults people, that's his choice. We don't have to buy it, see it, or acknowledge it. You have the right to be offended by it if you choose.

I find 'Honey Boo Boo' offensive on many levels, but I'm not trashing embassies, or wanting to fly across the country to punch someone in the face about it.

I wonder, did Ronald Reagan, Bush I, Clinton or Bush II denounce it? Because "Piss Christ" was made and displayed in 1987. This **** is old.The White House has had 5 administrations and 25 years to denounce it. Maybe they did denounce it. I don't know. Does every subsequent administration have to denounce it though? Is that the best you can do? Surely you have a more contemporary insult to Christianity you can demand the secret Muslim socialist president to denounce and dump all your persecution complexes on.
