Boy- you are going back a way, it was likely a comment made germaine to the subject at the time, looking at it now I was remiss in not adding "or until it expires".

The Priest, the Minister and the Rabbi discuss the question when life begins.

The Priest says: "Obviously, life begins at conception".
The Minister says: "No, life begins at birth".
The Rabbi says: "You guys are fools. Life begins after the kids have left home and the pets have died".

Indeed. I did not vote in the poll, because it did not have the option I support. That option would be 'we don't know'.

Scientific view is that life is a continuum. Thus both the sperm and egg are alive before conception. Even with death of a human being, his cells can live on forever in a Petri dish.

Arguing as to when life begins is like arguing how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. That is a profound question, which we cannot answer. To say that life begins at conception is a religious definition, not a scientific one.

Quite so, VanIsle. Claiming life begins at conception is a religious definition. That is what the Pope and Fundamentalist preachers say, that is not the scientific consensus.

Indeed, It would be quite right and proper ot say that embryo or fetus begins at conception. But life begins at conception? That is nonsense.

Eurika! I found it.
What we have here are two parallell lives and the rebirth cycle: the life of the physical body and the life of the trancending body. Some call it the spirit body, I prefer a borrowed term, the astral body. When the physical body dies the astral one detaches carrying with it relevant information the physical brain has collected. On the other end of the spectrum, for humans at birth, the astral body bonds to it at approx. three month. This is the beginning of you or I as a person rather then the living tissue in the womb.
My work is with parapsychology and dream interpretation. Dreams are telepathy in the sleeping state and being a very visual person works best for me. I worked out the rebirth cycle, which also applies to plant and animal life. Who sends us where and why, how muc free will do we have, etc. I am satisfied it is a well rounded study that takes you right up to the physics of bonding and bond breaking.
