Well-funded union advertising campaigns have convinced many Ontarians that Premier Doug Ford is making cuts to education that are hurting our kids.
Is this true? No.
These claims are demonstrably false. The current government has increased education funding by $700 million beyond what the previous Liberal government spent, including a $1.6 billion Teacher Job Protection Fund to ensure that no teachers would lose their jobs due to a change in class sizes over the next four years.
(The ugly reality is that many teacher claims of pubic support are bolstered by HIGHLY SUSPECT Polling methods!! There is good reason to believe that LIE-berals and their teacher HOG allies are making very good use of information supplied in the Long Form Census - so that they can track the ethnic make up of neighbourhoods, seek out specific income groups, and locate areas with high concentrations of civil service HOGS and immigrants who will be more likely to support certain LIE-beral values in FAKE random polls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(What it comes down to is that LIE-berals START by asking a series of questions chosen specifically to elicit ambiguous answers - such as “Are you concerned about the probable existence of TOXIC LEAD PIPE in your kids school drinking water - and the answer will usually be yes”!! So the parent has said yes to making infrastructure repairs to the school - but HOGS interpret this answer as meaning “parents want a larger school budget”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(The parent who is worried about lead in school drinking water HAS NO OPENING to complain about the fact that there is so much lead pipe in our drinking water because for decades now - ALL our taxes have gone to HOG GRAVY - with NOTHING LEFT OVER to pay for needed infrastructure repairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(Parents certainly want lead pipe out of the schools - but THEY DON’T WANT A HUGE NEW tax hit that will deceitfully be used by school trustees to make a MODEST START on replacing lead pipe -while DIVERTING MOST OF ANY NEW TAX REVENUE TO MORE HOG GRAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(The ugly fact is that LIE-berals and HOGS POLL US relentlessly - constantly seeking to find and refine THEIR SELF SERVING MESSAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(Parents are also concerned about bullying at school and they think kids should be more closely supervised - but again this is NOT A PARENTAL call for huge new supplies of gravy for HOGS!! The TRUTH IS that our teacher HOGS KNOW very well who the trouble makers are - and are REFUSING to do anything useful to deter them!! Our modern school system HAS NO WAY of punishing trouble makers or enforcing good behaviour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(No detentions are ever imposed as kids have to be on a bus after class and cannot miss it!! Nor is there corporal punishment - as educators deem it barbaric - even as logical payback to violence prone kids!! Nor will our HOGS SUSPEND bad kids since it further cripples the educational progress of the dumb heads and leads to lower standardized test scores - and low scores make it harder for HOGS to justify their gravy grab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(Hogs also seem hostile to the idea of putting all the bad eggs in one class as it is UNFAIR to which ever teacher has to handle that class of bad asses - while other HOGS get easier classes!! And of course such segregation of trouble makers will lead to cat calls of racism as the results of LIE-beral immigration failures and multi cult disasters will be exposed by a quick look at the ethnic make up of a typical “slow learner” class - or any class made up of discipline problems!!!!!!!!!)
(This is not to say that whites are Saints - but it is a fact that some ethnic groups proceed through our education system more easily than others!! It does not help to let LIE-berals claim that ALL the problems of some social groups is the result of ALLEGED “Systemic Racism” -a claim that is EASILY REFUTED”!!!!!!!!!!)
Let’s dispel a another myth the unions have been peddling.
Is Ford firing 10,000 teachers?
Again, no. The Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) recently released expenditure estimates for the ministry of education for this fiscal year which confirm that the Teacher Job Protection Fund will more than do its job and ensure no teacher gets a pink slip as a result of changing class sizes.
Read properly, the estimates show that 10,000 more teachers would have been required above current levels in four years if class sizes remained the same, instead of increasing as planned by an average of 0.66 students at the elementary level, and 6 at the secondary level.
(So the REALITY is that Ford has FIRED NOBODY!! All he has done is HEAD OFF GROSS NEW UNION FEATHERBEDDING and OVER STAFFING - by preventing a huge number of new hires at staggering public expense!! HOGS DO NOT wish to discuss the HUGE number of new teacher hires along with the vast numbers of new teaching assistants hired as well - by Wynne-bag LIE- berals as they sought to BUY HOG VOTES and make life for teacher HOGS EVER EASIER!! LIE-hberals were DEFEATED specifically because of their shameless and hugely costly catering to HOG WANTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
It’s both inaccurate and deceitful to conflate attrition (the teachers who will retire or otherwise voluntarily leave their jobs during that time) with layoffs.
You can’t fire someone you haven’t hired yet.
(But Our HOGS are pretending Ford HAS fired people who have not yet been hired!! HOGS WANT that union featherbedding that will make their lives EVER EASIER AND MORE PROFITABLE!! LIE-berals follow standard third world dictator policy by getting as many people on a govt payroll as possible so they will support the govt that grants the GRAVY-and to hell with the over taxed public!!!!)
Although a $700 million increase in funding should be enough to make any public sector union happy, education unions in Ontario are perpetually and indiscriminately dissatisfied.
(That cash includes a one percent pay raise -that is SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR HOGS!! They want LESS KIDS to tend to so their day will be easier AND they DEMAND GRAND GREAT NEW GOBS OF GRAVY!!!!!!!!!)
These same unions accused former Liberal premier Dalton McGuinty of launching “the most concentrated attack on collective agreements and public sector workers” in recent history.
(How ironic that LIE-beral McGinty tried to impose a little logic on HOGS- by reducing the scale of their DEMANDS - and the HOG reaction was so GROTESQUE that McGinty was forced to retire from politics - and Wynne-bag took over as premier -with her promise to “do whatever it takes to restore teacher trust in govt”!! The result was the DOUBLING of Ontari-owe debt- making us the most indebted province ON THE ENTIRE PLANET - and bringing Ford to power with the support of an OUTRAGED PUBLIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
That’s a remarkable statement considering that the tenures of the New Democratic and Progressive Conservative governments which preceded the Liberals were likewise marred by teacher strikes and demonstrations.
(Yes - LIE-berals boast that there were no HOG strikes against their govt - but WHY would there be since HOGS got GOBS OF GRAVY simply for the asking!)
In a time of seemingly ubiquitous union ads, it’s important for Ontarians to be accurately informed. For example, taxpayers should be wondering why class sizes are getting bigger, despite increased education spending.
(A BIGGER question is why the LIE-beral education budget rose 50 percent faster than the health care budget in spite of LESS KIDS in the system - while numbers of patients seeking medical aid SOARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Where are our education dollars going?
A 2019 Fraser Institute report revealed that over 91% of the increase to education funding in Ontario in the decade preceding 2016 went to the salaries of teachers and other staff.
(And that massive gravy grab IS STILL NOT ENOUGH!! LIE-berals have made pension promises to HOGS - in exchange for HOG votes - that probably TOTAL OVER ONE TRILLION DOLLARS - that we do not have!! Hence the FEROCIOUS LIE-beral defense of their carbon tax GRAVY GRAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
The average teacher starts collecting a pension of $47,300 per year and retires at the age of 59, whereas the top teacher pension payout caps at just under $62,000 per year.
According to this year’s budget plan, Ontario taxpayers will contribute over $1.7 billion to the teachers’ pension fund, which is $360 million more than we’ll give in post-secondary student financial assistance.
(And yet the teacher HOG GREED is so severe that the outgoing chairman of the OSSTF high school teachers pension fund warned it was GOING BANKRUPT - as way more gravy flowed out as HOG entitlements - than was coming in as contributions from teachers or govt!! Hence the HOG RAGE at being thwarted from getting those ten thousand new teachers hired - so they could be treated as CASH COWS to help support the current HOG pension retirees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
That’s concerning in light of a recent poll from BDO Canada which found that one third of Canadians have no retirement savings, and half live pay cheque to pay cheque.
The vast majority (86% of education funding is administered through the province’s 72 school boards, yet only three school boards took up Ford’s offer to fund line-by-line audits to help them find savings.
(Naturally Trustees DO NOT want savings as it will put them at odds with HOGS and prevent trustees from being re-elected and getting Trustee Gravy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Looking beyond union rhetoric, it becomes evident that most of the increases to education funding have either gone into the pockets of teachers and staff, or have been carelessly squandered by school boards unwilling to save money.
(Trustees are expected to BUY VOTES just like any other politician!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Ford’s not the bogeyman of the education funding fiasco in this province, but hopefully he’ll stand up for taxpayers and stop being bullied by the true culprits in negotiations this fall.
(If HOGS win their fight against elected govt - our democracy will BE CRIPPLED!)
