I've been watching the unseemly debate now about Trump's personal call to the widow of a slain U.S. special forces soldier in Niger. A Democratic congress women, Fredrika Wilson, snooped in on the call, in which the President expressed honest sympathy and consolation. She proceeded to make use it as a political platform and make a spectacle of herself by calling the President's call insensitive and blustering and by patently misrepresenting the substance and the tone of the call.
That led to to Chief of Staff John Kelly, a Marine 4 Star General and a Gold Star Father himself, who was with the President when he made the call, to make a rare public defense of Trump.. noting the President said none of the things and did not take the attitude of which Wilson accused him. She lied and she disgraced her office by using a serviceman's death as a political weapon. Not the least of which by skewing the conversation in a racial framework which did not exist.
Trump expresses himself in pragmatic and concrete terms. Much different than the gooey abstractions and allusion we are used to from Obama, Bush, Clinton. It's frankly refreshing respite from these slicksters' empty platitudes. And it highlights how desperate the Democrats have become.. in labeling Trump a racist.. in a futile attempt to regain some credibility for their politics of division and confrontation of ethnic and racial groups in America.
