Tonight was some bar nibblies and a beer, followed by some BK on the
way home. Nothing to rave about. Two weekends back though it was
this:

-with a gallon or so of thick, dark brown gravy.

My Kids where coming into town, and it was the day before the
Thanksgiving feast at my Sister's place, so this was the meal
to prepare our bellies for the big meal the next day.

it's kind of a tease post... :(

Tonight it is braised chicken.........really simlple. Just cut the chicken into the usual pieces, dredge them in flour and pepper and brown on all sides. Lay the browned chicken in a shallow roasting pan with a dozen or so small onions and a cup of sliced fresh mushrooms. Add a cup of chicken stock, cover and bake at 325 degrees F for one and a half hours and it's done. If you don't have chicken stock use Campbell's chicken broth right out of the can.........Don't add salt.

Under a Lone Palm
Corned beef hash for me. Topped with three fried eggs and fresh pumpernickel toast from the bakery.
The wife had curry. I am not fond of here preferred style although it is good.
I take advantage on those days to have something she doesn't like.
The stove gets a little busy but we make it work just fine

Thanx to your post I now feel inspired to make a thick chili soup with avocado, cheese, and meat for tonite.

:)

Made a big crock pot of chili last weekend so the freezer is harbouring many feasts ready to be topped with some nice cheddar.
I split it with my daughter at university. She loves free food.

Learning to make enough food so that I can have leftovers has been one of the best things I ever did. Honest now, the dinner was great tonight. But I bet it'll be ten times tastier tomorrow.

Everybody should learn how to cook that way.

Yeah, there is something to be said for left over meat the next day.
