1. Why would federal governments not allow people to move West?
Don't take everything you read so literally.
1. Why would federal governments not allow people to move West?
Compared to the late 1950's food has droppped from 60% of income to 10-15% of income. You don't have to explain it to me. You have to convince people that they are better off paying more for food and to forget the lessons learned in WWII
Canada's problems in order of importance:
Blah, blah, blah...yadda, yaddam yadda
Canada's problems in order of importance:
1. Immigration - too many and poor quality, i.e., uneducated and from stoneage cultures who don't obey laws and could care less about how to live as a good Canadian citizen. Send them back from whence they came and in future, keep these useless people out of Canada. We need 'Makers', not 'Takers'! Those who cannot pass an 8th grade equivalency test in English or French should never be granted Canadaian Citizenship.
2. Crime - serious crime like assaults and murder are way out of control. Much of it perpetrated by those described in #1 above.
3. Illegal Drugs - Way out of control. Hand-slap penalties handed down by our WIMPY, Revolving Door Justice System does nothing to deter the proliferation of illegal drugs.
4. Environment - Stop the importation and sale of all the cheap plastic crap from China et al. The Federal Government should pass and enforce rigid quality standards for all products manufactured or imported into Canada. This will keep our landfills and urban streets from being filled up with the crap that is used once or twice and then discarded and would also create more jobs in Canada & USA where we know how to produce quality items.
5. Healthcare - Way too much abuse of the Health Care System. Hospital Emergency Rooms are filled with drunks, drug abusers and immigrants, who for whatever reason seem to need four or more family members to accompany them to the ER and many times they are there with problems that could easily wait a day or two until they could get into see their Family Doctor. Another reason I hear about is that if you go to the Hospital Emergency and the attending Physician gives you a prescription, the Hospital Dispensary fills it at no charge to you. We need 'Makers' not 'Takers'. Government paid medical services should only be provided to patients who can function in English or French.
6. Unemployment - there are jobs going unfilled by Canadian residents because they won't do the work called for. I recall a few years back an Okanagan orchard owner who couldn't get help to pick his crops who went into downtown Kelowna with a sign saying he had jobs available picking fruit. The many young people standing around on the sidewalks and in the park just laughed and ridiculed the man. People receiving government paid unemployment benefits should be made to take available work of lose their benefits.
7. Homeless - Most of this is the result of some of the above. Illiteracy, consumption of illegal drugs, stupidity and the attitude that the Canadian Taxpayers owe you a living regardless of how much of a screwup you are.
That's all for today! Hope I haven't upset too many of the 'entitled' members of our society.
And while you're at it, Canadians who cannot pass these tets should be shot.Canada's problems in order of importance:

What you say may be true in some cities, but most assaults and murders are 'home grown'2. Crime - serious crime like assaults and murder are way out of control. Much of it perpetrated by those described in #1 above.
Not much of a problem in reality, but we like to blow it out of proportion.3. Illegal Drugs
It's not as much of an issue as some try to make it out to be.4. Environment
We all look upon healthcare as 'free', and therefore don't value it.5. Healthcare
Absolutely correct. In my office, it's next to impossible to find anyone interested or capable of doing anything.6. Unemployment - there are jobs going unfilled by Canadian residents because they won't do the work called for.
Most of the homeless are people with mental illnesses, who would have been taken care of years ago.7. Homeless

Like what, being scared by an immigrant who looks different, sounds different, and smells different?
Shades of the 1870s and the Irish, don't you think?
More like the ones (the minority) that pack knives and guns, sell dope and do drive bys and fence stolen merchandise and rape and kill your daughters.....................never realized the Irish did that in the 1870s.
You can say that again!
Дякую тобі Боже, що я не москаль!
