According to Steven Harper the other day, the ARCH-centrist Liberals constitute a threat to the nation in government. Now setting aside that opinion for a moment, what exactly is an arch-centrist?
I know if you're way off on the extreme right of the political spectrum you're considered an arch-conservative or on the far left an arch-socialist, but once you're at the center by definition you're in a position of moderation, and any change in position doesn't make you a more extreme centrist, it takes you towards either extreme.
I think what Harper was really saying is that he would like to bring the entire nation to his extreme political position given the chance. The term arch-centrist describes his personal opinion of the moderate and much more balanced view of the world held by most Canadians.
Now who truly poses more of a threat to Canadians if in government?
