Good morning, ironsides,
You're an American. What do you think of astronaut Edgar Mitchell's contention?
edgar mitchell - Google Video

I haven't made up my mind, cannot see why a peaceful advanced race would risk close contact with us. Our weapons though maybe primitive to them are still deadly. I they are war like they would have either destroyed us or made some sort of contact by now. Astronauts have seen things flying around up there throughout the history of the space program.

Quoting EagleSmack 'The thought that the rich and wealthy are all GOP members is a stretch. Ever hear of the Kennedy's? John Kerry and his wife... the heiress of the Heinze Ketchup Empire...Hollywood? The Gore's? Clinton's?

Hardly Republicans.'

To which SirJosephPorter replied:

'Quite right, EagleSmack, and Democrats aren’t complaining, it is the rich Republicans who are whining'.

However, at the present time it is the Democrats who write the law.

Then SirJosephPorter said:

'Those earning more than 200,000 $ per year should be glad of their good fortune.'

Of course, hard work, talent, ambition, education and frugality (just to name a few of the reasons the "RICH" got rich) had nothing to do with it.

Karl Marx would be proud of this kind of class-envy. Kind of sprinkled with hypocrisy, though. SirJosephPorter repeatedly and often bragged about his wise investments and his own personal wealth. Was that all the result of just "good fortune"?

To get specific, I have what you would call "the American Health Plan". I can see any doctor I want for any aliment I may have. (no charge) There is nothing wrong with it. When we had children my employer paid for family health insurance, no problem then either. The problem is the uninsured, and most of the time it was career choices (either self employed or worked for companies that offered no or optional insurance). Before this economic crunch it was relatively easy to get health care.

I think it is pretty cool. However I've heard from a lot of Canadians that the US never landed on the Moon and it was staged in a movie lot, so to them Mitchell's assertion is most likely tainted as he was part of the conspiracy. They probably believe in UFO's too!

SirJosephPorter responded to the statement "Living through the election and inaguration has been hell":

"I imagine it would be Hell for a Republican, GreatGuns. Your side has been in total control for six years (controlling both the Presidency and Congress and of course Supreme Court has been a Republican majority since way before 2000 when they awarded Presidency to their crony, Bush). Plus your side controlled Presidency and the Supreme court in 2006 to 2008 (you lost the Congress in 2006).

When your party had total control of all the three branches of the government, they made a royal mess of the economy. We had two severe economic downturns during Bush’s watch, one in 2001-2002 and the current one.

Is it any wonder that people got fed up with Republican ineptness and mismanagement and decided to give the other side a chance? Just live with it and be patient. If democrats make as big a mess of things as your side did (though that would be difficult to do), your side may well come back in 2010 and/or 2012."

It was NOT an inauguration. At 160 million dollars it was a CORONATION. The liberal press four years earlier was all offended about the horrendeous cost of GWB's second inaguaration which cost 40 million. Yet, they glorify the outrageous cost of the coronation of most unprepared, most unqualified candidate, ever, one who, however had the talent of a snake oil salesman, ably supported and propped up by a teleprompter.

Hans Christian Andersen must have been a time traveller. No better model than Obama for his tale of "The Emperor Has No Clothes".

What Americans really think.

I know for one half of them it is; "Do I look fat in this"? The other half it is ;"Yes and how the hell am I going to pay for that?" "Oh well!"

Funny how so many conspiracy websites, re: the lunar landings, are from the States.;-)

Not being a phoney, teleprompter supported snake oil salesman, orator is "disastrous'? Does substance matter any more or is just teleprompter style? In any debate where Obama would not have the telepropmpter (the words on which were written by people smarter than this inexperienced, immature and pretentious nobody) Jindahl would make mincemeat out of Obama both in style AND in substance.

The only one who will need a major rebuilding will be Obama by about June of this Summer. After all, he will have to get out of the backwaters of the two most corrupt entities of the free world: Democratic Illinois and Democratic Washington, DC.

His speech writer is a writer for the TV show "The West Wing. How many times do I have to say politics is all show business and no longer reality. It's made for TV.

All the world is a stage.

Much as I like Bobby Jindahl, I am convinced he will be savagely brutalized by the vicious, pro-Left media. I mean, "what does a P..i think he is doing here", they will say, albeit, in far more polite terms.

He WILL be the first non-white President, no doubt. After all, the first black president was William Jefferson Clinton, and the next one was only half black, according to such luminaries as Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan.

In any debate I would put my money on Bobby Jindahl without a teleprompter vs. Barrack Obama WITH a teleprompter.

Good afternoon EagleSmack,

First of all to those who believe that man on the Moon and 9/11 were big theatrical tricks, their "Idiots". :angryfire:

This launch of space shuttle Discovery went right over my house and I live about 75+ miles away from the space center fantastic sight. We are in space to stay. I thought the article interesting, I have always believed that someone's been covering up that the Earth has been visited for years, but really have no proof. I do know the Space Shuttle exists, I do know the Lunar Module exists because I have seen them up close and personal.
