Considering that AB and SK provincial regs are already tightest in the world, (Fed ones were a lightweight in comparassion) what's next? Tighten more?
I'm not sure about an exact solution, but we do have environmental costs that aren't being paid.

Canada pledges oil and gas pollution rules by 2013 at climate conferenceThe federal and provincial governments have announced plans to improve monitoring of environmental impacts, but have failed to introduce any regulations that would require a reduction in emissions from current levels, which are now higher than annual pollution from all the cars on Canadian roads and about the same as pollution from all light-duty trucks.
Do you really believe emissions will drop during a 2.1 million bbl jump in oil sands production? What about conventional oil? Do you have any idea what sort of growth there is on the table? How about coal power in MB?
Or maybe all they had to do was drop in a word to appease?
Is it something new?
What sort of tune will Mulcair be humming after touring the oil sands? "We're in the money"?

Should he be touring the conventional fields, potash mines, uranium mines, gold mines, copper mines to get an idea of the big picture?I don't know. That's why I'm curious to see what his reaction will be.

Spend some time researching what is already on the table and what is slated for Western Canada in regards to resources growth and you'd **** your pants and walk away thinking to yourself "how the hell will we ever be green with this much going on? It's impossible".
It's ****ing massive!
Not see...hear the accents.Spend a day in fort crack and you will see what part of Canada they are sustaining.
Oil sands is just a slice of what there is for growth. It would take a couple weeks of touring to get the whole picture.
Suncors so big they have their own main street,,traffic lights and traffic cops.Have you been there?
The more union jobs in the oil sands the better MUlcair will like it. Especially if they are CAW jobs.
They are unionized, good old 955 operating engineers and some clac which really isnt a union.Unionize the oil sands!? Are you trying to price Canadian oil out of the market?
Ah, maybe that's his strategy?
